VAG DPF values after clean&forced regen

Hi all

Leon Mk3 CUNA 2.0 TDI 184bhp

Unsure if there are any DPF Gurus on here but have some quezzies about the values shown on VAG DPF app after Halfords (don't judge me 😅) replaced a sensor and did a clean & forced regen...

The soot calculated and measured are very different and to be nearly 40% full at only 9g calculated seems a bit off to me maybe?

I've attached images of the app when car is idling and before/after an active regen whilst I was driving.

I have read that maybe the soot values needed to be reset after the clean and I can't see Halfords knowing to do that?

Thanks in advance

From a bit of googling if Halfords replaced the differential pressure sensor you might need to do an adaption via VCDS afterwards. Would explain the strange values for soot mass measured - as far as I know this is mostly from the differential pressure sensor. I am no expert however just what I found from 5 mins of googling.

Thanks for the reply Frosty - they replaced the Bank 1 EGT sensor (the one right at the back, under the DPF almost) I don't believe they touched anything else.

To be honest, its been regenerating every time it hits about 20g/21g soot mass calc. Which from reading up on, sounds about right... as the max (100% is around 40g/45g) this would be 50% ish 'full', so I think its regenerating OK... would just be good to know why the difference is there...

I guess if the cars driving OK and its regenerating... I should be happy 😅

As far as I know, it regens when calculated soot hits 24g. I don't think measured has as much of an impact. It should Regen down to 4g unless you turn off the car earlier.

To be honest, the developer of the app is a good person to ask, they obviously have very good knowledge on dpfs. Can be slow to respond though. App forums are here: https://www.applagapp.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=4&sid=95e0f59009cff2f4fe18c42a44359139
