key arrived... but it snapped while the guy was cutting it!!!!
he messed it up the first time, wouldn't go in the door so I took it back and he had a 2nd go during which the key snapped off the end!!
where's the best place to buy a new blade from??

Don't know - was Timpsons. The key wouldn't go in the lock at all though which makes me think the blade was really crap quality.
Right got it apart now - now I've got this:

there is a little pin near where the blade sits in that bit that flips you will need to push it out and keep it then remove the broken bit
timpsons can cut blades but don't have the right kit to do it... the key holder does not hold it correctly...
Bloke in timpsons told me this and said while they can do it if they are careful it can also lead to the key snapping or being cut wrong....
Just get a new one of ebay and try again... only cost a couple of quid...

Took it to the shed put it in the vice and hey presto - it's out .
Just bought a replacement blade too so fingers crossed eh...
Won't take it back to Timpsons... lol

Hmm the guy @ Timpsons never told me any of that .
But yeah I've bought a new blade off eBay hopefully be here for saturday then I can fit that and go elsewhere to cut it?

dont put the key blade in the key go and get it cut first then fit it into the fob less change of breaking i would have thought

just give him the blank blade before you put it back into this part -
Would you say it was okay to get it cut @ Timpsons again - as he'll do it free for me cos he broke mine, or do I go elsewhere?? There's a lock & key place down the road that shud be able to do it too?
