Gah, badge number?

Hey guys,

I've had a trawl through here since page 26 or wherever, and it's mentioned that the part number for the wee seat badge is 1M0 837 891A

I e-mailed a dealer about this, and he tells me it's the wrong part number. He also mentioned that it looks like the badges come as part of the fob.

Can anyone shed any light on this?

Cheers

It was Seat Crewe I believe, I got the e-mail address from the forum section here. I have tried e-mailing them again with the extra letters on the end, and I'll give my local dealer a shot when I call them later

edit: OUCH! My local dealer has quoted £90+ VAT to re-program my immobiliser!! I think I might just buy a vagtacho cable instead

when you say it wont work, what exactly do you mean? if its the remote part then this can be coded using the methods explained in this thread, OR using vag com.

if it is for the immobiliser then you need to get this coded either with special equipment or vag com providing you have your SKC

its the remote part, ive swapped the transponder over from the old key and it starts the car fine.

Intrestingly if i put the new key in the ignition and then code the orginal key the horn beeps as it should, but the new key does nothing

your in luck!!!

Remote Control Erasing

1. Switch ignition ON and leave the key in ignition.
2. Mechanically lock the vehicle using the drivers door using a second key.
3. Press the remote control unlock button 5 times in 1 second intervals. A short horn will sound.
4. Wait 6 seconds and press the unlock button once to activate memory erase.
5. Switch ignition off, all remotes are now erased.

Ok, first off just wanted to say hi as i'm a new Leon owner after upgrading from my 1994 Ibiza this week!

Anyway, picked up my 02 leon 1.8se and it hasnt got a remote controlled key. Jus the normal imobiliser encoded transponder key!

My question is this - Will coding flip keys to unlock the doors by button press only work if the car originally had a remote control key? Perhaps a stupid question but gotta admit im a noob!!

Great site guys!!

Hi Ben

I'm pretty sure your car should have a remote locking keyfob somewhere.. the 1.8 SE is a higher trim version than my 1.6S and I have one. It may have just been lost, but yes you should be able to get a remote key to work with your car
