Cheers t0m appreciate the support.

However i have a small bolt that sits in the bumper that is vibrating on the exhaust atm, and its very annoying. Will get Alex to have a look whenever he is free.

Looks to move quite a bit in the video mate.

Can you get a pic of lower down, i.e near the brackets? You might be able to fix it yourself easy enough?

Hmm yeh i could lower the back bit down, but at the same time i may create the problem the whole cat back system may come down with it, then i will have the problem that Alex noticed in the beginning (that it may hit the rear beam. At the minute the rear beam is quiet.

The exhaust was defo designed on a standard road height LCR :(

I'm now looking into one of these Exhausts as mine seems to be making a rattle - its the heat / shield on the cat hanging off. If I bend it down then it doesn't make a noise - don't tell my missus tho as its a FANTASTIC excuse for a full system! Prob get the Resonated one tho as she uses it daily with two kids on board! Cheers for a great review again fella

Hey James,
Yeh i tried to write the review in the most descriptive i could. Excuse all the WWWAMMs etc, but it does sound similar to my friends decatted VXR. Have to say im very impressed with how aggressive it sounds, and i will always try and give the most honest answer possible even if it makes me look like i made a bad choice.

The exhaust does seem to be getting louder all the time and this obviously is to be expected, honest and truthfully you will need to decide if you want the resonated or non resonated, as im not kidding when on boost the car is very very loud indeed. The discolouration of the tip is actually laughable tbh. There is very few threads on here about discolouration, but i hope i dont have to wash the exhaust every couple of days as that is just plain ridiculous, will email Piranaha tomorrow and see what they say.

Ok, to answer your question. Yes i bought the exhaust on Ebay from a company called Piranaha. It was free postage so thats why i chose them over CobraSport themselves. No the exhaust doesnt come with the downpipe gasket and nuts, but Alex sourced these for me. On the invoice they came to £17.87.

Yeah if i was you i would take the work to Alex as he did a great job, and made sure it was sitting 100% before he gave it back to me. The small problem with the rear beam he even said he would modify it himself if the noise became unbearable (luckily the noise hasnt begun yet). Only problem is there is no burger van nearby but he already knows that problem lol.

Any more advice let me know mate.

Thanks Bret, this has really helped a lot :D

Hahah cheers B1rdy, always a good excuse to get a turbo back!

Pleased to report the exhaust is changing its tone now, and also getting a bit of banging (good) from the exhaust if im in 2nd doing 30 or so and i back off the accelerator.

With regards to the discolouring issue. It was very short lived as i bought some AutoSol and polished it up to its glorious best again. Took the car out and drove it hard, and the yellow hasnt returned AT ALL. Must of been what some folks originally said about it needing a few heat cycles running though it first.

So at the minute the only problem i have is with the rear bolt catching on the exhaust tip, so nothing to do with the exhaust.

Big front mount intercooler (Toyosport 600x300x76mm with custom piping) ordered too (sorry t0m didnt have the money at the time to get yours....but i get payed tomorrow), so Alex will get the job of fitting that. Im sure he will do a great job.

Cheers for reading the updates.

It will defo be Revo too. Unsure of the linear one or normal one, what do you reckon?

Its got to be the linear map, must more drivable. The only difference between the two is the throttle map, it makes the boost proportional to the throttle position, i.e. you only get full boost on full throttle, not at half throttle like the normal revo does at certain points of the rev range. The throttle works the same as a cable throttle.

Its a great map, not all low down like people like to say, its basically the same as the AmD i had on my previous LCR. Peak power on mine is at 6K. This was without the badger TIP and exhaust.

Cant wait to see this go stage 2, interested to hear you thoughts on the intercooler. Have considered one my self, the price makes its extremely attractive indeed.

Close ;) It just means the throttle valve angle is = to the throttle pedal angle. Non linear maps (including the OEM map) 50% pedal might mean 75% throttle angle, i.e. logarithmic response, not linear.

Boost map isn't controlled by the throttle directly at all; driver presses pedal, how far and how quickly determine how much torque the ECU decides the driver wants. Boost is determined based on torque request, not direct driver input. Boost, fuel and timing maps are all the same as non-linear Revo at equivalent stage and revision.

But yes, geeky **** aside the end result is that it's much easier to be smooth and accurate with the throttle. Makes the car feel that bit smoother and more civilised pottering about town and means for more predictability adjusting throttle mid-corner at high-speed; makes for less scary understeer flooring it out of corners and less scary oversteer when lifting off a touch mid-corner.

Hehe cheers Alex, just gotta wait for my reducers, jubilees and joiner now then will give you a buzz and arrange a fitting day. Oh and the only thing I haven't got is some steel fixings :(

James off the top of my head:

Intercooler £79
Alloy/silicone piping (elbows) etc £110
Jubilees x12 £18
2x reducers £15
1x joiner £7

Only cost more than I bargained for because 'mr silicone' for some absurd reason wouldn't allow me to buy online through eBay with him. Even though I have 100% record. Had to buy piping from auto performance for around a £20 mark up!!
