Cobra's aren't crap IMO from what I've seen on here mate. Also heard a few video's and they sound decent.

Good alternative to have on the market. Solid purchase! :)

Should certainly free up some more bhp/torque too.

007P SERVICE PACK WITH YELLOW SPRING.

Ok, so wasnt running themost boost happy car, but for some reason i had a sneaky feeling i have been running the green spring, and yep my suspicions were recognised. Thats 5 YEARS on green spring

The refurb is fairly easy, remove all the old gubbins. Give a good clean. Put gaskets back in and grease. Grease the piston (lightly). Put yellow spring in, screw together and bobs your uncle.

Car feels no different, but it was needed after such a long time methinks.....

NEW COILPACKS.

Was driving home the other day minding my own business, with music on full (its a summers day folks!!) when i noticed on 'pull away' a horrible scooby type off kilter burble.....had no idea it was my car until i wanted to go past 30!

Limped the car home, to be met by smoke coming out of the engine bay and underneath the car where the CAT is. Thought the car was going to catch fire, even my neighbour was like "your car is smoking LOOK!"

Next day went to GSF parts and bought 4 new OEM coilpacks. Total £137!. Phoned my friend to see if he could do them and vagcom it afterwards. Cylinder number 3 misfire...shux.

Anyway, car seems fine now, spent some of my forthcoming holiday money on summat i would of rather not spent out on, but hey ho, its the way of life. They were 7 years old, so they had a good life.

Hey Dolby, never thought I would think "it's handy to have some red nail varnish around"... Came out well though didn't it! Did you you feel the need to do the stitching with it too?

I'm in the process of having looking around for an exhaust as my OEM one os starting to blow in the downpipe area. Out of interest, included within that price, does that include a downpipe and/or front cat? Or was that price just for a cat back system?

Look forward to hearing how you find the new exhaust. Still one of the nicest examples on here. Top work as always buddy :)

Hey man, yeh my sister was sent the strangest text message ever, along the lines "hey how you doing, erm by any chance do you have any red nail varnish? Cos I need it urgently"!!!

Came out well. No excess on the sides, nice and glossy with no signs of peeling too....use leather cleaner on it first, mind :)

Ok the exhaust James. Yeh that's the full system. I ordered 3" turbo back, 200 cell cat, non resonated and non baffled tailpipe. So should sound meaty.

You and I are of the old breed where we remember how cheap Blueflame used to be...this is slightly more but no less drop in standards (according to fellow members)

Will do a before/after, cruising cabin speed noise test and on boost inside/outside test for other members.

Thanks for kind comments dude

Thanks for that Bret! It is such a big decision in choosing an exhaust. The market has grown and there's now more choice these days. Like you said, Cobra seem to get really good reviews, especially for the price of a full turbo-back system. Fitment is meant to be really good too.

Look forward to hearing your views on this :)

Aaaah tell me about it James.....

6 years in the making (for me) to get an exhaust. Always knew i had to get one. But my first car kinda put me off exhausts nearly forever! Had a Magnex back box on my 1.6 Focus and omg did that BOOOM on the motorway...to the point i couldnt hold a convo with anyone.
Held off the exhaust cos unlike a lot of peeps on here i have no interest going down the decat loud as fook route. I need my car to perform kinda in all areas, hence why i have invested in nearly all the best products for the car. Maybe i made a mistake getting non resonated, we shall see but at the end of the day, an exhaust place can always throw a silencer on it, should it need it.

For anyone that was interested in refurbing their DV (its not hard at all), but any guide is going to be helpful, here is the one i used. Its a mark 4 golf but still same thing etc.
