the maf is a weak point on these engines tbh, just either put some dielectric grease on the maf connections (CAGE MOD) or just unplug it and plug it back in a few times to
help clean it.
If ever i think my car is loosing a bit of poke, i do that anyway, seems to cure it haha.
As for the hot start problems, it sounds plausible with the temp sensors, but just to make sure, could the EGR valve be sticking open when its hot? When i turn my engine off you hear that click as it reverts back to its normal state (I always mix up when its open and closed).
Also could it not be something thats getting hot and expanding and cutting off the flow of fuel? Any unusual bends/kinks in the fuel rail or something?
Im rackin me brain as to what else it could be. Its either something daft like that, or its entirely electrical and id be checking every sensor i could think of.
