Chipped LCR and 330ci

yeah i agree that kinda inference of wealth a Lambo would give would be knicker dampening methinks

The Lamorghini is my dream car (and I WILL have one one day!) . I have to say that I don't put the LCR and the M3 in the same class. There is normally a reason why a car is expensive and the reason is normally due to performance. The LCR is probably the best value for money performance car available, but I still view it as one of the budget options in the performance car market. There's nothing wrong with this, I love the LCR, I wouldn't buy a BMW of any kind no matter how good it was simply due to the number of BMW's on the road. Even "normal" BMW's look like M3's these days with the fancy wheels and trim so I'm totally put off by the lack of exlusiveness of the brand.

I don't buy my cars to pull girls. I accept that image plays a part in my car choices, but despite it's greatness in terms of performance the LCR is never likely to enhance my chances with the ladies. If I'm on the pull I'm in the Lotus....

land330 does seem to have posted on here in order to start an argument, which I agree is characteristic of performance BMW drivers :thumbd: When I'm in the LCR I can't help but feel better knowing of the money I saved when I bought this car that can out-perform it's market "equals" and compete with its superiors. It saved me so much money that I could buy a whole other car instead of buying one dull as s**t BMW....

LOL what a quality thread.
Let us be honest, a current (or near as dammit E8997584 what ever the pre bangle munter is) is a stunning car. It is renound for amazing engine and handling. However it cost nearly 40K! so how we can be comparing it to a 18k Hatch is beyond me.
It is unfortunate that most 3 series drivers seem to think they are in M3s and seem (stereotyping) to lord it over the road. I like many have been on here and stated my encounters with 330ds/cis etc and since revo have been quicker. A 330ci has less power/weight than a std LCR and a remaped LCR has less than an M3 but we are talking maybe 10-20bhp/tonne which in the real world is a car length or 3 over a mile, and bring in bhp/£ no contest. The main things that puts me off a 3 series is A, the image
B, the price, and C, the sheer amount of the bl00dy things!

Undoubtably a great car whos image has been ruined IMO by over zelous salesmen/fleet buyers.

said it before and ill say it again an m3 will blow away a LCR hands down i mean you have to drive one to appriciate what im saying but mitchy 350bhp in a LCR is unrealistic and not easily achievable, and even then it would have traction problems being front wheel drive, its just never goint to happen ;)
oh and that goes for a CTR aswell before you say something bout that! lol

what so an ibiza with the same engine (which will blow away an m3) can acheive 350bhp+ but an lcr cant?. or forget about that what about the octavia with 400bhp+( i suppose the m3 is still faster than that eh?

standard yes the lcr is no match. but its a little silly to say that its never going to happen- drop in 4wd and itll destroy an m3 on the twisties too- just like the s4 does :D - not to mention the rs4

Just wanted to point out a few things

1) I didnt come on here to start any arguments, i just thought it was quite an interesting outcome that my 330ci was pretty much as quick as my mates Revo LCR- some of you lot obviously dont think so!

2) BMW are Common, but they are quite good cars, thats why so many people drive them

3) Most 3's are all built in Germany, not South Africa. Mine says made in Germany (Regensberg i believe)

4) LCR are still nice cars

5) Most of you guys on this forum seem like a nice bunch

I suppose no-one remembers the video of the tuned yellow Leon making mince meat of the M3  What about the video of the CTR stuck up the M3's ass.

If there's a free video upload site i'll happily upload them.

The M3 has only 260lb ft of torque. It ain't going to be destroying any remapped LCR.

M3 stats are 0-60 in 5.1 and 0-100 in 12.3. Take into consideration its mid range ie 60-100 is around 7 secs

60-100 on a remapped LCR is around 7.5secs.

I think some of you are well exaggerating its performance

Yeah, but there will always be a few tuned cars no matter what they are which can beat any number of more expensive cars. Besides some of the vids floating around usually have stories behind them ie the guy in the m3 probably wasnt trying etc etc. The only way i believe how a car performs is if i run against it myself first hand. I wouldnt mind making a vid of my m3 (when it comes) against my mates Revo LCR if i can get it hosted? Most forums dont condone street racing though, which is fair enough.

Ahh we do seem to be heading that route again! Wheres M0rks thread about Lambo bashing gone!! ;)

land330 we are a friendly bunch and its good to get some non SEAT owners to get a different opinion. As with all manufacturer specific forums there may be just a wee bit of biased towards the make!

Simple read....one of 3 assembly lines producing 3 series. Favoured for the UK because of right hand drive production also supply USA , Africa and Japan. for logistic reasons.

or

each production facility specialises in certain models.

some people seem intent in turning this thread into a pissing constest. *sigh*

it doesn't really matter anyway, as 99% of the time you'll be stuck in traffic, or on roads where you can't safely/legally use the performance :)
