Chipped LCR and 330ci

Hey there,

A While back, i posted a thread stating that me bud had a new LCR and that when we had a rumble i was quicker than him in my 330ci. Since then, and a few £££ here and there spent on a revo for the LCR, weve have had some more runs! Just wanted to point out that it is still quite a close race and not so much of a beating like some of you guys with the chipped LCR were stating. Considering 231 vs about 265-70 bhp and a massive weight disadvantage to the BM, i was a little dissapointed with the performance of the LCR. We swapped cars and the same sort of outcome. Off the line 330ci is quicker to 60. Mid range the LCR is faster (1-1.5 car length) and silly speeds quite even! I think a well driven 330ci is more than a match for some of the tuned LCR out there!

Point taken , but the price different, 1200 cc difference...... I would not be too happy about that outcome from your point of view.

you must be ever so happy with your double the price motor now..

Yeah i am. I figure if i WANTED to spend half the money and buy a 'SEAT', then i could, but no thanks. I think thats a little unfair to basically say that because i spent more money i should be expecting huge performance. I value comfort, looks, refinement, handling, residuals, build quality, being able to pick up ladies :D etc as well , all of which are lacking in the Seat IMO.

You give BM drivers a bad name  Pick up the ladies :roflmao: Wouldn't they ask why you had to go for the cheap version?

Wannabe M3 more like. Couldn't quite afford the real thing so you thought you'd come on here and wind us up :censored:

330ci.... A standard LCR will stay with 1. A chipped example will more than make ground on it. Is his car low milage and still tight??

There are tonnes of owners here that have stuck to the rear end of your bigger brother so i doubt a car with 100 horsepower less is going to trouble it

He He, i was waiting for that one! Funny that, i pick up my new m3 (well 1 year old) in 10 days time, so im sure i will be able to disprove the theory that any chipped LCR will keep up! (oh and that i cant afford it!)

okay let have a look at that statement, looks , 330 CI ?? fair looking but got a bit of a :w4nk: image to be fair.

Residuals ? have you looked at the residuals on BMW`s would not talk that loudly about it specially with the new model out now.

Buid quality ? - it is assembled in south africa....enough said.

Pick up the ladies, so the car is a your main tool for finding women....right well lets not comment any further , hopefully you do not disappoint considering the car.....

and now finally... perfomance, you are getting beaten by a car with 1200 CC less capacity than yours. once again enough said...

Well I'll give you that 1 but i don't think it will be the drubbing you think it will. Not from the M3 showing i had a couple of months back. Don't get me wrong it is a stunning car and if i could afford £30000 i'd have 1 sat on my drive. I just don't think it will be the drubbing you think it will be.

I'll more than happily put my car up against your new beastie ;)

:roflmao: Come on now lets not be silly. If my 330 is pretty much even with a chipped LCR, unless youve got nitrous or somin i doubt youd keep up

i have raced 2 E46 M3 from 60mph and can keep with them until 130mph, after that they pull away by quite a bit. Still good to see the look on their face that a Seat is still with them :D

You kept up with a tight example LCR?? You did say his car was new!!

Maybe he was shifting early or you were slipstreaming him hence not fighting against your own wind drag.

Funny you should mention nitrous ;)

He has 7000 miles on it now. I think thats pretty much run in, and come on i know what a drag race entails. Still i lost and admittted defeat.

The M3 has 338bhp and weighs 1500Kg. It also has only 260lbft of torque!

A LCR with 350+ horsepower would make mince meat of it i think. It would be in the region of 400lbft of torque and weighs a fair bit lighter.

But then again you can mod the M3 and make the LCR look silly so no point in comparing modded vs standard ;)

The M3 is a fantastic car so enjoy it :) I just dont think it will pull as well as you think it will on a chipped LCR, not unless you get the CSL model ;)

Lovely cars, i'd have an M3 over any other car bar sportscar/supercar
