That looks horrible i would no way do that to the seals.
i just made sure the holes in the door were clear and took the door seal of and cleaned it and that worked.
Its on view for a few seconds at a time so its not really a big deal, doesnt look that bad, however not in keeping with the VAG premium quality look (apparently...)
but then they should have designed the thing properly in the first place and not spent ages over engineering the cupholder.
Will replace it when i sell the car after christmas, easy enough to get one from a breaker.
exactly what i said when i mentiond how i cured it
lee may i plz have your crown as god pls lol
sorry to you all for my crapness with the pics though
yes it looks naff but id rather this than have the car stinking of damp, going out 10 mins early in the morning drying the inside of the mindows and scraping them in winter (iv been there), not getting wet feet when i open the door and not having newts making them self at home lol
no extra noise and no drafts, the seal on the door its self goes over the slit and more or les stops it but wont push up to tight on the slit so the water just runs away
balls to 200 quid to seat and balls to any other fixing tape and sealent lol
"spent ages over engineering the cupholder."
Why is it every time i have some one new sat in the passenger seat they always have to press the cup holder and put it back in and then press again. Looks like Seat spent ages over engineering the cupholder to entertain the more simple minded passengers
because its a very german thing to do.
they would rather spend ££££££ and loads of time on a hidden fag lighter that appears from a hidden panel in the dash with a silky smooth movement rather then sorting out doors that leak and naff electrics
"my Coil packs keep failing, but on the upside, the fag lighter is a work of art"
good one VAG, GOOD ONE!
May be the TOP Dog at VAG likes his cigars while he is out driving on his holiday in Sunny Spain.
but he doesnt want any one to see how he lights them lol
my cup holder on my R has another trick...
the bottom of it wont come down unless you actually put any thing in it, this makes it a double talking point to any one who has never been in my car lol "oooow whats this.. press, slide it back in, press... its the cup holder.... press, hang on how does it hold a cup with out a support under it??, slide, press, drop a can in it.... tadddaaaar....
oooowwww whats this..... press,.... nooooo dont press that to much it will breake and not do up again....., press, press, balls its broken, what is it?? its the lighter cover....
pull, open, christ your glove box is shite,,, its just for gloves lol
We now have a new Limited edition. The Seat Leon Swimming pool. Sadly it didnt come with optional swimming trunks. Brand new mats soaked through on both passenger and drivers side. Now we got the car about 5 weeks ago from a used car dealership so im hoping they will cover us for the repair. Or at least do the work if i supply the stuff required. I may even blag that the TIP is collapsing and ill pay for the part if they fit it....
i know what you mean about the doors too, its like the hinges are made out of well oiled bannana skins
iv never had any one get in the car, slam the door so hard i nearly fall out the other side lol
i think its due to haveing good hinges on a heavy feeling door, and i think it gets worse with age/miles, mine has done 117k now and you can SLAM it shut with a finger...
my personal fav is the fan controls for the heater. one min its on a low setting, so you want to bump it up 2 settings, then it hammers straight up to colin McRae speed.
i just want a nice gentle waft of cool air to massage my person, not a full blown gale simulation in the car ffs.
