We didnt no, thats what cocerned me. Popped back today and explained the problem told him it wasa cheap thing to fix but time consuming and that i couldnt do it.They are going to take it back and strip it down to look into it as they hadnt heard of it before. Told him it was very common and i would print out the guide on here to show them exactly whats going on. They are more than happy to look into it and repair as they have other Seats for sale so will benefit them for the future and give him something to look for when he buys his cars in.

sounds like a good place to get ya car fixed if you need to give them a guid on how to fix it lol, soooorrrrryyyy but i had to say it

Nah i told him id researched it but wasnt up to it myself and ill show him the guide so they can see whats going on before they start pulling it apart. At least ill get it done free and they are very good guys. He even mentioned doing the back doors too before they go ashe will be getting the stuff anyway. Just gotta get rid of the moisture and wet mats now.

I had the same problem on my 2000 leon, three out of four doors leaked. I re-sealed them with silicon, then a few years later had the same problem. I then made slits in rubber at bottom of door, and holes in rubber seal in line with slits. I used a screwdriver to make holes in rubber seal (straight through) and this works for me without the huge triangular shape that some make.

i had a bash at doing my worst door but i'm struggling to see how the water ends up filling the inside of the door up to such a level that it comes through the seal which needs silicone to solve the problem. Are we not going to be having trouble with rusty doors in a few years time?

What tools have you guys used to remove the door handle trim without damaging it or least amount of damage if unavoidable?

I have managed to remove the driver door one but the handle is now heavily chipped and don't want the other three doors to end up the same way.

Well, update on mine. Garage did the doors for us, they called seat to find out what they needed who told them that it had been subject to a recall for this problem. Seat then supplied the relevant seal free of charge. We had torrential rain which flooded roads round here after and yep, DRY carpets!!! woohoo.

Id advise anyone having this issue to Call Seat and get the new seal and push for it free.

I used a flat head screw driver under the handle in the middle to make a small gap.
Then used plastic bike tyre leavers from a mountain bike puncher repair kit to wedge in next to the gap made by the screw driver then ran them along the handle until it pops the handle off.

Hope this helps.

No way, i had spoke to the garage about this and they said there was no recall for this problem? I also checked online and no record of this as a recall even though we can all see that it should have been with so many of us experiencing it!

if you use the screw driver but where the outer part of the handle meets the fabric of your door card it doesn't mark anything. Do it at the bottom part of the plastic handle though not where the chrome handle you use to open the door is.

I cut 2 small triangles into the door frame seals on my worst 2 doors 1 week ago and so far no leaks! Also, no gush of water when opening the doors like they used to do.
This has saved me £300 quoted by my local stealer to repair/reslove... :)

Yep, I've done all 4 doors and so far no leaks and no water pouring out when the doors are opened!
This has saved me a fortune and no more puddles :)

Cheers guys :D will see about doing that when matey has put the new seals on for me.

Just gone and had another look at it and the frint drivers footwell is wet too :( Its hidden by a rubber mat though so looks like more investigating needed.
