It is fraught with problems thou... so it's not advised to change trains on the standard unit. E.g.. 2xx to 3xx, 4xx to 5xx. The high unit software you can as examples of recent.

I concluded that if one didnt have the programming skills at the time you would be stuck. Mr Average doesn't. Suppose the question is whether someone has written some universal code. If you brick it, it's open it open up, short across pins etc... so unless the DIY enthusiast is up for that then don't bother. It's really for guys like Chillout who can program and have n'th years experience with the nuts and bolts of the inner workings of mib1/mib2. Showing it on old units is like a light show at a car meet that all lights come on together and everybody says wow .

If it doesn't work the unit can no more reboot. If you are aware with a lit of bit programming you can go... if not just update to 479

Se non funziona l'unità non può più riavviarsi. Se sei a conoscenza di un po' di programmazione dei bit puoi andare... se non basta aggiornare a 479

There are retrofitters such as one of the boards sponsors that offer a service to mend a bricked unit. They have done that for the board's posters that have done that in the past, bricked mib2 standard units or changing trains. E.g.. The difficult process. High units have been bricked as well in the past. Not sure how they managed that one.

Where the mib2 latest software is on an old unit they have probable paid a specialist retrofitter to do it. How they make their money on tasks that hobbyists can't do easily.

You can download, there are no risk to brick... it just doesn t work if you dont modify it
