SW update for MIB2 infotainment system?

I'm standing on other people's shoulders 🙄.

Your last issue of synching the 8" display colour outline with the analogue dash outline colour may be on here. Adaptations, 5f unit.

Screenshot_20220521-173543.png

Plunge in anyone with advice. Reckon a toggle needs to be set so that the dash and the infotainment screen show the same colour in synch with the ambient car light colour.

The ambient light fix may be here:

Question of looking at the settings.

Anyone know if the Colors of the 8" screen can be matched at the Analog Cluster? Or this isn't possible at all?

TIA
Mine does I said in the PM. The retrofitter that did my original 1338 from something <1xxx will have toggled the 9 unit or / and 5f to get it to work as the production cars with the ambient light colour coordinated on the two screens and in the door illumination on the Ateca. Till I got to 1338 I never had the highlighted colour coordinated bits. I'll have a look in the 9 and 5f unit as per that post above to check tomorrow unless anyone knows the solution before hand.

My build code is ambient light type 2 as the Ross Tech post (that's the full colour), type 1 was the odd two colours that lesser mib2 cars got 😉. Thus I suspect once I look at the parameters it will throw some light on it. Compare with yours.

Firstly thank you to Tell and MIB-Wiki for sharing, altering, explaining how to install MIB2 High SW update.

Managed to successfully get 1447 aio installed this morning, so much better now the ambient colours match. Very easy to do as already mentioned.

My only issue are the map FeC code for some reason it has remained ending in 1C not EE. Should I now install the M.I.B tools and carry out the FeC patch?

1447 AIO should have 073000ee in it... are you sure you ran the 1447 AIO rather than 1447 AIO. I've seen Billys and they are on that list. You can see a list of all FeCs with precedence given to the higher one so may be further down the FeC list if you page down.

if you install 1447 AIO then you shouldn't need Mib Tool.

On the linked list 1447 AIO is the one below 1447... just in case you picked the wrong one off.

The 1447AIO software (currently dated 30th March):

MIB Solution :: Login

Failing that you could install MIB Tool if for some reason it didn't take part of the process.

Note your ambient colours are working fine did you do anything special. to get them working... note Billys aren't above.

I didn't run the Patch or MibTools and got the EE Fec installed! Did you have any fail messages in the process?

Defo the 1447 AIO.

Here is the notepad file that is on the SD I used to update
1653226733524.png

I went from 1219 to 1447 AIO. I've reset the SVM flag.

Steps to update
1. reformat SD Card to FAT32 (allocation size set to default)
2. unzip firmware to SD card
3. place SD card in SD1 slot
4. Igntion on (With car charging)
5. hold down menu button
6. selected "software versions/update"
7. Selected "Update"
8. selected "SD"
9. selected the SW version (1447 and AIO were not in the name)
10. let it install.....
11. it restarted a few times then asked about software version management (I cancelled this and just reset using VCDS)

No Fail messages .... Very Strange

Is there a way to access the MIB Tools? as apparently its meant to have been installed?

As for LEDs I've fudged the colours so I have 10, prior to this update and I have VC. So unsure why its not working for billy. Would you like an ad maps from 5F and instrument?

We found with Billy it didnt appear to be. It would be on the green menu. So I reckon you install and patch if nobody says don't.

Yes ad map useful for Billy. Haven't checked how mine works yet.

Wonder if point 11. would have installed Mib Tool and done it within the app.

To install Mib Tool you do elements of this post:

You have 1447 installed. Just need to install Mib Tool, backup and then patch assuming mib tool hasn't changed from when I last used it. Might have done. It uses a developers part of the firmware to replace one bit with another.

I can only think 1447 AIO tumbled out of the installation that did the patch, if you are seeing 1447 installed, then the original way of patching it with mib tool would be the answer... @jpmedia can, I guess if issues look at the backup generated. It should just recognise the version and allow you to patch (If not redesigned too much from when I used it).

OR

You start again using the SWDL command, continued long press on the menu button till it opens the screen where SWDL can be selected... longer hold to get that. SD card in for 1447 AIO and niffyt finger work, start manual download then update all. I went into describing that option on the thread. Since it's been installed and not an upgrade I reckon you have to do it via SWDL if you want to start over, then at 11 let it do it's work if that's where the mib tool bit happens if integrated. I can only think at that stage ommiting it stopped it from installing the additional FeCs... then you still need to get rid of the SVM errors after. I guess it clears SVMs after the first part install before loading the FeCs additional which is the text, then leaves you with the last SVM to clear.. . That's what Billy had to do.

Billy's getting me to screen image my settings which Im passing on. 1338 all fine. Original was done by s retrofitter, Jpmedia assisted me with the life long FeC. Unless 1447 is different from 1338 it can be done. Mines on the ~14 colour one (factory set as delivered). I'm no expert on Ambient light screen. The range of colours is what it came with on those units and ambient light system. Have no real wish for many hues.

Basically the retrofitter at the time took a dump of the cars setting and then manufactured the 5f upload, then tuned up the settings. It went from a very early firmware prior to the 1xxx to 1338.

Well I reckon the screen colours of the front unit and pre digital cockpit are set in these screens.... I guess, get that right and it works or something like that.

Have a dump of them. Ateca with ambeing light electric control unit 9.

I will look because i have a standart mib2 with software 516 but i can have the 30 colors on the doors and on the mib unit. Only the central part between the analog needle is always with the orginal colors. (Blue=gps, green=smartphone, red= radio, yellow= car statistic)

The LIN parameters are only for the doors (in a seat leon) the other ligth parameters are for the mib colors

Accepting all I've said above looking a bit further reckon at 11 you aborted the script. The meaty stuff is in this one attached. Open in notepad. Where it does the fruity stuff but it didn't. Think it's just the way it was asking the questions. Clear SVM and it would have continued doing it's business. It would have loaded MIB Tools, used that to clear the SVM then do the FeC handy work but that got missed out.

Option are you install Mib Tools yourself and finish off or start again using the SWDL menu as outlined.

I get the colours to match the ambient colours of the door on the screens. I think they could be ~14 colours... I've never tried to get more. When I did go onto 1338 I came from 0674.... looked it up. Basically it has "eyebrow" colours on the screen (outine) which tally with the ambient lights. Those colours key in to the FIS.

Blue all round is what I select... choices are on this screen (with the eye browses / eyes 😉). It was once I got onto 1338 that the keying colours appeared on the 8" screen, the rest were always there. E.g.. themed ambient colours they just got highlighted on the screen.

I noticed that at the doors I don't have the 30 colours i get at my 8". Got it coded with the app in Obdeleven and will have a look at the Lin parameter tomorrow.

Might have hit the nail on the head if different systems give you different range of hues, if you can't match them up since they aren't capable of that range then there will be odd ones out. I can't say I've ever been that interested in colour schemes in the car beyond, primary and the complimentary colours. I know some people are.

Chillout's skins is the place to go to modify the image for the mib2 high and if you follow the links talk of the standard version (these are the toolboxes as opposed to mib tool):

And Chillout came up with the solution to manually alter Mykro's issues so the conventional dash display colour matched the 8" screen (highlight colour).

Issue:

Solution:

That was the solution offered up when the conventional dash display offered up a different colour to the 8" display.

The two links to changing the skins and the highlight outline colours if they don't match.

Got a feeling the highlight colour issue comes in if you opt for more than the Seat default colours (that which I'm happy with) so it then unravels on the front display. In Mykro's case it was a big jump of the software update from below the 1xxx series to 1447 or may be not. Reckon those are the two posts in the mib2 high area on this.

Just to prevent this thread going off topic, maybe worth visiting this thread, sounds like a similar issue.

https://www.seatcupra.net/forums/th...nt-lighting-options-issue.469516/post-5008971
I've edited in Chillouts solution when it came up in April on the thread so people can take the cue from that as well. Posts passed.

Basically skin fiddling on the mib2 high and the colour highlight scheme. As I said to Walone in a PM using a retrofitter we were saved from this issue ££££ but gaves us different problems since at the time they never delivered the long life navigation FeC which this does instead deploying a one year scam to get you to buy new firmware every year. That's history now and the boards retrofitter isn't the one that was scamming, they went back to Poland. So you have DIY following the thread or East Yorkshire Retrofit that offer an excellent service if you don't fancy DIY.
