lancashire.
Was having a look under the bonnet today and noticed the rubber hose to the fuel rail looks like ****.
Is this a common thing?
Going up to the local stealers tomorrow to see how much and how long.

you can always get a good length on Gates fuel hose and cut it too length as you might find others like that, at least then its on hand, I've still got some i can get the number off it if needed

Have you replaced that actual section?
Any idea what the hose id is?
not that one but right side it was on a pump for the rail see pic I've uploaded , cant remember the pump name of it but reason i could not get just the fuel hose as it was not a separate part you had to buy the would bloody thing and the hose was less than 200mm its been on 10 years now, the hose was leaking one the hose clips and looked like that cracking hose you posted, bet its same size though , will post hose part number tomorrow with pic.

Nice one.
Ill go take a look later and see where they (i think there maybe another hose out of site) go and what section i can get.
If not, ill measure up and see whats what. They are shaped though so maybe an issue.

Tandem pump? I've got Halfords fuel line on there. Been on there nearly a year now with no leaks, degradation or any problems.

That's the fun thing about this site - lift the bonnet of a Cupra R and all I'd be able to recognise is the windscreen reservoir and the brake master cylinder.

When it comes to pipes and hoses, I don't think I've noticed any difference with how the car runs when I've not used the "correct" one - or that they're routed a bit differently from the OEM one.

Not here, but I've been told I'm headed for catastrophic engine failure because of this:

The one I changed was shaped I just trimmed it until it did not kink , think I cut two as I cocked up the first one, there must be a way too shape them with heat and a welding rod but it’s the risk of damaging

here you go , long label lol

Not sure , but I bet they cost , same with that top boost pipe that you can unclip the pipe holders you can’t get separate you can only get them with the boost pipe

Cant see the problem with that. Was either someone who was trying to sell you something or someone who knows less than he thinks he does.

Just stuck my head under the bonnet again.
The 2 pipes i need to get both go to the charcoal canister thingy.
And aren't that long.
Will try and drop in at the dealers on my way home tomorrow.

Well it's been a busy day doing the jobs I should not av too with my dad putting the door seals and boot seals on properly and the plastic trims, had to order a boot trim piece as it was broke after getting car back from garage, also noticed like a circle affect on the boot after having it painted by the garage so going to have to tell them that.
Fitted a ultragauge and also fitted jacking point inserts which will make knowing where to properly jack the car up. Busy but frustrating day

Lol what a plum. Who ever said that, how do they think custom builds are made? they dont follow oem routes lol

Some people seem to think it has to be exactly the same as a stock car for it to be OEM. I've seen far more extreme things than that and still considered it stock.

One of my best purchases. I've been told I paid more than I should for mine, but they've made my life so much easier given my already dodgy sills.

I got mine from Awesome as well - paid about the same. I had real trouble getting the nearside rear one in, but it's been in a few months now and seems fine.

I've been thinking a while that my floor is a bit shagged and looking at your photos of the underside of your car, that's pretty much confirmed it. I'm guessing it's another f-ing garages thing where they've damaged the jacking points.

@iammooks yeah I had an issue with one being a bitch to get in all looks fine now, you dread your car going into garages as you know something won't be right when it leaves them, ive been putting mine back together the best I can since getting it back but I will av to take it back as the boot paint has like a pond effect on it in certain light.

I know our cars are old and they will never be perfect but they our baby's lol also them inserts should have come from factory
