Good stuff with the handling arb’s. They do make a big difference.
Now you’ll have to lift off mid corner to have it step out
People always impressed when on track how stable the back end of my car is.
K brace is your next step.
For an extra 40 quid add Whiteline Racing front control arm bushes with added castor.
Turn in changes with less front end oversteer.
Car feels much more planted.
A great mod that makes a difference that’s cheap as chips.
I have a set of H&R springs if you’re interested. Not worth paying for postage tbh but
If you’re down south you could grab them and just give us a drink.
As for the Badger5 tip.
Is your car mapped?
If not it’s probably not giving a real gain. Maybe the mind playing tricks.
I think my car maybe lost a few brake prior to mapping with all the mods attached.
Maybe you’re lucky.

Certainly, if it’s fitted with an open cone and a heat shield you will see gains of upto 8 poss 10 brake in the end. But usually after a map. Maybe half that or less while standard.
Heat shield is so important too with open cone. otherwise you can be looking at deduction in power once again.
If sticking with the air box, try a Green Panel filter.
These are pretty efficient and give the best air flow for the standard box.

Cheers mate. I'm afraid I'm oop north in Manchester though.

I'm not remapped, but should still gain a couple of hp from higher throughflow. Possible there was a split in the old pipe though. I'll probably get the ProRam and heatshield at some point.

Go to the local night club on a Friday or Saturday night. You'll get all the attention you need :)

I'm not interested in the springs myself (not that you were asking me!) but I'm just curious as to where 'dahn sarf' is for you? Being in Brighton it gets a little lonely with all these northern monkeys

The rear ARB is the only thing I've done to the car that's made me even consider a track day. I'd love to push the car hard now - maybe after I finally fit the new clutch and DMF I might get a remap and see what the car can do.

Did a drive out to Gatwick and back to give the car a chance to get warmed up and stretch its legs ahead of the MoT. I'll be picking up a new air filter from Euros tomorrow as well, as it can't do any harm on the emissions front. The one I've got in there now is two and a half years old and while I've not done any big miles since then, it probably needs it. I really need to start writing the date on the air filter housing - time flies by.

Fuel consumption is getting better with all the vacuum line changes and sorting boost leaks. It's still not back up to 54mpg but 48mpg isn't too bad in this weather.

London lad born and bred.
SW and West.
Now live near Uxbridge

And to be honest. Anyone is welcome to these springs. Not been used for that long. Was last owner who did them and I put BC’s on instead.
They give a really nice stance. Firmish ride.
You’re welcome to them.

Well you have the best flowing one there is.
Now there’ll be those faint whispers in your ear of
“ Map me Map me”

Same here. I seen a few mk1 going about. A dodgy sprayed yellow one. And a nice looking black lcr with the ebay dlr lights in it. Other that none. So boring and no one to talk about mk1s with lol

God knows what people think when they see mine. Right now the front and rear bumpers need some paint attention and there's a ding in the nearside rear door. I'll sort all that in the spring though.

The worst part is that all the other mk1 Leons I see round here are either mint with an awesome looking stance, or they're ratted out, but they've been ratted out on purpose, so it looks good. Mine just looks... ratty.

Yep, they do.
After a moment of weakness and nearly selling mine, ive kept it and booked it in for march. Done all the mods i can and would be a waste to not bring the car to its full potential.

You won't regret it bud, it's going be like a complete new machine, I bet you will have the biggest smile on you face when out for a spirited drive, you will be looking for any excuse to go in it lol. Can't wait to hear your reaction to it once mapped in.

The crazy part is that my diesel is half that - when as far as I'm concerned, the petrol is cleaner.

Car failed its MoT, but hold your horses, Thai-wronghorse - it was only on the nearside front wheel bearing, which I've held off on for a while.

Everything else - brakes, emissions etc. - it passed.

They said it was one of the tidiest cars of that age they've seen in a very long time. Makes me feel a bit proud inside.

When prices come down, I'm genuinely thinking about converting mine to electric. The two main things I like about my car are the handling, which wouldn't be affected, and the torque. I mean, let's be serious, people don't get excited about diesel engines - they get excited about petrol - so if I can get a 200-300bhp electric in there, I'm laughing. That and no more sodding boost leaks.
