I had the same worries recently when I thought my TIP wasn't seated properly. I think the car will probably run lean but you're not likely to get any foreign bodies getting in on a short drive - just make sure you don't drive through a ford or do any off-roading through any deserts.

How split is split though? Like you can see daylight through it?

It'll be fine for a short trip, I drove my last breaker home about 16 miles with no TIP or air filter attached

Roughly 6 or 7 months ago id fitted a catch tank to the car and deleted the pcv system and didnt like it. Having to empty it weekly so that it didn't overfill and get drawn imto the turbo. So replaced all of the items of the pcv system and refitted it to the car. But left the catch tank in situ
Ive been checking it every 5 to 6 weeks and theres been nothing in there except a thin film of oil in the tank. Checked it the other day and theres about 1/2 a teaspoon of oil in there. No water and no funk, just oil.
Obviously made its way from the pcv,the rocker cover or both. No biggy. I estimate the car has done about 3k in this time.
So, im catching the oil in the vapour that passes through.
Should i leave the catch tank in place to catch the moisture or remove it and let it get sucked back in through the turbo?
Im thinking that maybe a thin film of oil covering the intake side maybe a positive thing to have for a little protection against dust etc that may get through? Fine particles may stick to the pipework rather than making it back into the engine.
Or leave it fitted to catch what it can?
Gotta say im happy with the pcv system. Im sure itll last the lifetime of the car now.

Fixing some minor oil leaks.

Replaced valve cover gasket, the inlet pipe gasket and replaced my SMIC although I want a FMIC in the future

Its the wierdest thing ive ever seen dumped on a pavement. The shock absorber had Leon written on it with paint pen. I was sat there for about half an hour. People were just stepping over it like it wasn there.
Shame the calliper wasnt Brembo. Id have grabbed that 😁

It's all getting a bit boy racer with all the orange hoses.

I've still got the short ones to do - the rats' nest with all the splitters and plastic connectors - but that's the main ones done.

I'm running out of 4mm I/D hose but I'm guessing 3mm will do the job fine.

Failed on droplinks, CV boot and some other little suspension part I can't remember, so could be worse.

But knew it would fail on the anti roll bar, so gave them H&R front and rear bars to fit beforehand. So looking forward to collecting on Monday.

Badger5 TIP also installed.

Mine also just failed on a cv boot and the rear seat won’t lock in position.
Never use the back seat, must be from last time I cleaned the inside and dropped it.
E bay to the rescue, a replacement seat back arrived today.

Those seats are shocking. A few years ago I'd been using my car to lug a few things to the tip, so the rear seats had been down. First they wouldn't locate in the slots and then the seat belts wouldn't work.

I had them out of the car and in pieces on the dining table. It's some weird ball bearing thing that locks the inertia reel when the seat is flat, and it's supposed to release when it's upright.

It doesn't.

Now the seats stay up and the belts always clipped in.
