Ordered H&R anti roll bars yesterday.

Anyone ordered from Venom before? Don't know if this means weeks or months? 🙂
"Please be aware that the goods you require have to be ordered from the manufacturer/suppliers"
Thought I'd revive this one - my rear ARB finally arrived today and it turns out it's not a Whiteline one but an H&R one. Didn't come with any fixings so I might have to pick your brains about those and whether I can make it work.

Something for everyone else though - as it's H&R, they do two rear ARBs for the Leon - one for the Cupra R and one for all the other models, and I've got one for the Cupra R. The way I understand it, all of the mk1 Leons have the same rear axle setup, so before I start trying to get hold of fixings etc, is there any reason why I can't fit it to my FR?

Not all have the same rear axle - the Leon4 is four wheel drive with a rear diff.
All the others share the same rear axle tho
It’ll fit to your FR

H&R rarb fitting kits are easy to put to together yourself and have done on my own car previously.
Buying the kit separately is extremely difficult and stupidly expensive hence I just bought the pieces on ebay for a fraction of the price.

Here are some pictures of the clamps I used on my h&r roll bar. I think the clamp size I used was 97-104. I think I had tried the next size down and failed to get the bolt to locate and tighten.
You’ll need longer bolts for the lower shock fixing.
I don’t know where you’d get the rubber bushings from.

I just found your thread from a few years back while I was researching, Thai-wronghorse

I'm going to message the guy I bought them from to see if he has anything, because it was literally the ARB with the bushes for the rear axle and nothing else.

It's not the adjustable one (just one mounting point), but am I supposed to get drop links as well?

I didn't pay much for it, so don't really mind spending a little to get it on the car, but it's always good to know what I'm supposed to have to begin with!

I assume yours looks like this, so just longer bolts required:

No drop links, just bolts through the damper mounting. You can try the stock bolts if you like (may just fit) or order slightly longer ones. Bushes just need metal straps round and tightening up to hold stuff in place

Such a relief. Thanks everyone - will get to ordering those straps and some longer lower shock bolts.

I think you all know this is a mod I've been itching to do for ages, so I can't wait to get it on the car and give it a go.

Will get on eBay and get those parts ordered.

Nice one, you’ll be well chuffed when it’s fitted.
But it’s one of those mods you soon get used to and forget it’s there

...like when I swapped my 1.2 Ibiza for the Leon FR. Never thought I'd get used to that...

Fitted the Maxton Design spoiler cap (gurney flap type thing)

View attachment 28657 View attachment 28658

It's not bad, the glue tape is STRONG (had to prise it off when positioning it which was nerve wracking).

Fitment is... not the best because the tape holding it on stands proud so you have a bit if rocking, so I applied some electrical tape to the leading edge to get it to sit right

Also fitted some Michelin Stealth windscreen wiper bladesbut didn't take any pics because... they're windscreen wiper blades
been eyeing these since i got my leon, i would colour code it myself but i think they look good. Hard to find pictures of it fitted further than 6 inches away though lol

Does this bring you into Peugeot 205 GTI lift off oversteer territory?

I'm ashamed to say I never got to drive the GTi - I drove a pretty well tuned 205 1.6 though - that thing was like a roller skate.

If that's the case, I certainly bloody hope so!

Still putting off my boost gauge install. Will probably do it Friday and Saturday and already have my lower dash off, but wanted to ask if anyone has any experience running their gauge in the air vent to the right of the steering wheel? I've got the vent out but I can't see a way of getting the gauge wires out from there.

I'm fully prepared to drill a hole in the vent conduit, but realise I could also try running the wires through some tubing so they're not damaged by rubbing and it saves me putting holes in my HVAC system.

I'm guessing someone's done a gauge this way before, so thought I'd throw it out there before I do something irreversible...!
