Just been out walking the dog and having a ponder.Does it boost any better without the plasticine pipes?
YupThe car?
What now?
I hope you got decent money for it.Yup
Not sure yet need another car though what ever happens
Yeah I just re-used the existing one without thinking. Can't test it at the moment though because I've got a coolant leak from the crappy plastic flange on the side of the block!Just been out walking the dog and having a ponder.
If you are running the standard system and possibly untouched since new, you're probably losing boost.
I reccomend at least replacing this valve.
I did the suck/blow test and the old one was leaking so WILL have been losing pressure in the inlet manifold.

Are you going to get another MK1 or do you fancy a change of scenery?

As for me , I've been a member on here since around 2008 so I think you lot have had enough of me so its time to shift horizons, turn to the dark side and smoke on out of here

Youll miss wondering every time you leave your house weather or not your car will let you in or out. And the boating lake in the passenger foot well every time it rains."LCR" has had its Last Chance Really and been sold to very well known forum member - I am sure he will be along at some point...

I guess i could get a 6 speed gel insert.
I'll see what turns up.
The standard knob on the car is a little ropey as is the steering wheel. Both need addressing at some point.
Just glad i didn't pay too much for it.
That vent tube always hangs freely.Pretty annoyed at DPD today for telling me my shock absorbers will arrive today, only for me to find at around 2.30 that they hadn't even made it to the depot.
Also annoyed at my girlfriend for parking the car under a tree and now the car's covered in sap and pollen.
Also annoyed at the person who decided it would be funny to put two chocolate hobnobs on the roof and now the seagulls have paid the car a visit.
Although I did spend some time trying to find the source of my knocking sound and found that it could be the fuel filler neck. Can anyone else have a check in their car to see if there's free play in the neck? If I give it a wiggle, it will knock on something and am wondering if that's what the noise while driving is. It isn't suspension noise, that's for sure. I'll be buggered if I know how to actually stop it from knocking if that's what it is, but at least I'll know. Failing that, I'll be ripping out the interior trim to see if any wiring harnesses are slopping about.
EDIT: Just watched a handy video on YouTube about replacing the filler cover door, and noticed that when you remove the door, there's a long drain pipe that comes out with it. It doesn't seem as though that's attached to anything and so I'll take it out tomorrow and see if that affects anything too...
Got to love a nicely machined piece of ally.Well I got this strut brace and got to fitting it, very well made unlike my back lol had to make a few alterations for it but happy with the look.

Well, it's definitely blocked and it could do with a clean, so it's a good chance to take it out and give it the once over. That vent tube always hangs freely.
