Tire advice needed

My pilot sport 3 are so final that I have to buy new tires now. Tires lasted 1½ summer means about 6 month of use.

My old coworker can get me quite reasonable price following tires, but which I should buy, this time I would like to have good but not so expensive as PS3 was.

- Nankang NS-2
Price is good (cheap) but how's the tire?

- Nankang NS-2 R medium
Tire is good, price is in upper ranges. Just wondering is it too much for daily driven car

- Michelin (91Y)PILOT SPORT PS2 N3
- Michelin 91V TL PILOT SPORT 3 GRNX
Both Michelin are expensive but good, I have run 1½ summer now with PS3 and they work in wet, dry and even in track days quite well

- BF Goodrich 91W TL G-GRIP GO
Mid price range, no idea of the tire??


- Conti SportContact5 91V
- Conti EcoContact 94V
Contis are great in street but have heard that too soft wall for track days and very expensive like Michelin

- Hankook K110
- Hankook K115
- Hankook K117
Mid to upper price range tires, no experience neither

- Syron Race1 Plus
No idea of this, price is cheap. Read some reviews and they are from totally sh*t to good.


So Any ideas fellow drivers? I'm not driving track days so much anymore with Seat and next summer probably non coz I bought that damn Saab for track days. Those NS2R Semi slicks was one idea coz Saab have same tire size so I could swap tires but then I have to still bought some thing to Seat

Polish and wax for the winter. Pity that polishing went little wrong so have to do that again. Some holograms on the doors, even I polished doors twice with final finish and friend who's quite pro for detailing tried fast and still there's some holograms.

I'm possible selling the car if some enthusiastic is interested. Planning to buy Audi A4 B7 or B8 3.0TDI. If I don't find good buyer I'll probably keep the car for while or fix it back to stock and sell the parts.

Just Logged car after new fuel pump, car is pushing strongly and hitted over 210gr/s

This weekend went on dyno. Just little bit adjust how aggressive boost PID is. And also talked with with my tuner that car will get flat shift feature

Dyno said this time ~260hp/380Nm (Almost 230Hp on the wheels with custom K03).

My dyno chart, I'm quite pleased with this one. Low end torq is reduced and smoothed quite well. (Yellow is wheel power and pink is wheel torq)

For the reference my friends mapped S3 mk1 with 3" DP and full exhaust gave 250hp and 399Nm in this dyno.

I just bought own place and it's almost 20 km further from my work than my rented place. Diesel car would be great to have, but I can't live with out sporty feeling and AWD so it's hard to find car. Specially in low budget.

Damn ECU SW problems with Flat shift mod so no changes to get it for this weekends trackday. And my trackday tires haven't got here yet even.

Ordered real trackday tires with E and Dot markings.

Seems that I'm stuck with the car. I don't have afford to buy new and cannot sell this one before than I have new daily.

Paintjob is so terrible polishing (done it twice already) is pointless. Was thinking what if I fix the paint and "rust" spots by my self and then warp whole car to matt white or matt baby blue.


Then I notice problem with car, front end seems to be loose? Can little bit worn out strut upper bushing be the reason or is there something bigger.

Some idiot changed lane and crashed to my car. Lucky that I manage to keep car on the road. We were driving at the high way (120kmh). Don't look so bad but it is :/ at least bumber, fender, lights, inner fender, something at chassis and possible rim :/ ou and also something odd with the ESP, car is at body shop for check up and insurance company probably want to check car also because of the age.

Still nothing from the insurance company, so had to take Saab to track


I was quite surprised how well it handles and that i manage to drive FWD car that well.

Just discovered this thread. I must say, I'm a bit jelaous about 4x4 - that's the only thing missing on my Top Sport.

Nevertheless, the car looks (or looked) great, the mods you've done are also great. I hope you're going in the same direction now - with the modifications.

Thank you, I think that what is coming will please also others, at least I will be.

Yes, color changed and it is awesome, even though I know some will hate it and some will love it.

One teaser what is happening with engine

It was really time to do this 2nd Conrod bearing was in very bad shape and cylinder head was quite big surprise, there were 6 exhaust valves bended and 2 have take small damage, also all stems were in bad shape.

Body is painted and some of parts are already installed, like windows and some trunk linings and door seals.

Engine is coming together slowly also, just waiting some parts to arrive and need to order some small items.
