Finally got a decent bit of time on the car again. Ive been worried about taking it down the track to where my garage is as its full of potholes. So i fitted my sump guard.
I've also raised the car up quite a bit, as a temp measure whilst its in progress.
Next i drained as much fuel as i could from the tank, its been there over a year and is probably shot. filled it up with 10 liters of super duper 99 fuel, and mixed it around with the old fuel ,repeatedly priming the car to try and mix the fuel up a bit.
Then came the first test run! And feck me is it loud. Not awesome loud, its Like a drag car. Im going to have to sort it out with a bigger silencer.
I'm looking out for a second hand LCR cat back, as i think i could mod one to fit pretty easily. If anyone knows of one going...
Got it down teh drive way, and out for a short run. Honestly though, its running very rough, and occasionally it's not maintaining idle.
I have fault Code P0011
P0011 - "A" Camshaft Position - Timing Over-Advanced or System Performance (Bank 1)''
It sounded rattily on idle some times, so i am gong to change the chain tension, which could well be causing this
problem.
But what is actually causing this fault, i've not really looked into yet. I thought it was enough for a day. And i was hungry.
It picks up fine around 2000rpm, and when its going it felt to pick up very well!
Plenty of work to do before MOT but this was a pretty big step.
