hi dave
you to weigh the difference between the bonnet oem, and the bonnet fiber?
I'll get mine on this weekend at ron!
I weigh my seat when I was buying (equipped race rally), it weighed 2155lbs ... yours should be much more slight!
I would be curious to know the actual weight!

you to find or suspension wishbones? it is beautifully realized!
you did not think to make a mecano welded?

Ron told me the bonnet is 2kgs, I had a mate weigh a OEM bonnet & it was 12kgs so should be a 10kg saving.

The wishbones aren't fitted yet but hopefully I will be starting them this weekend when I get my car back

Went up to OSE this afternoon to see Mark from Earl's doing my hardlines, very happy with the work but means I need to polish them up to get them shiney.... Few hours of buffing for me with the weekends :)

First a photo of the seat mounts

Going through the car

And then where they will be going down to the rear calipers

Not 100% finished yet he needs to make up the braided hoses from the rear to the calipers & supply the bulk head fittings, also I'm having braided hose straight from the master cylinder to the front brakes.

Went looking for my bonnet & found it on to of a Mk1 Escort :D

Had a little noise around his workshop, didn't take any pics but will next time, he's building a Mk1 Transit with a 55 plate chassis underneath that he's building for a Ford Dealer down in Somerset and also he's building a S2000 BUT with a shell of a Mk1 Escort Estate with forestry aches!

So I've not found my ideal Van, stuff a T5 lol

Well Thursday I collected my car from Old School Engineering, few pics of the car outside waiting for me

Got home, went to reverse the car off the trailer and heard a "crack" got out and did this

What happened was when I went to collect the car, I had noticed the drivers side tyre was looking flat but got on the triller fine. Rolled the car back & fore and cleared the wheel choke on the trailer, when I went to get the car off the trailer it hit the wheel choke cracking the front splitter. The wheel strap must have left some air out of the tyre I guess, so will be checking the wheel over soon.

Dropped the splitter back up to OSE the next day to get repaired, was gutted but found it funny that all the times I have come off a track I never marked the body work and then reversing off the trailer I do this lol.

Put the car back in the garage and finally get to see the car in there with my new flag

Spent the whole day clay baring, polishing & waxing the car, also started to polish up my brake pipes inside the car. Got a load of jobs I want to do to the car over the next few weeks,

Fit the solid lower arms
Powder coat the uprights
Fit new wheel bearings
Get some uprated spring rated springs (340lbs F&R at the moment and do away with the helper spring)
Get my rad fixed
Sort a template to get the carbon fibre boot panel done
Fit a isolation switch
Need heat sleeves to cover the braided hoses on the front (they near the manifold)
Remove the ABS sensors & wires
Looking into some solid front top mounts

Got a few things to do and I'm in two minds to go for the solid lifters and then car run 290-300 cams mmmmmmmmm.

I just joined the forum today & I'm glad to see you're still developing your car - my son first pointed your thread out to me a few years back when he still had a Mk2 Cupra. He's moved on to a historic rally Mini Clubman (half shares with me!) but I couldn't bear to see the Ibiza go so bought it off him! I'd really like to get it half as good as yours one day...!! :)

Since I had my car back from OSE, I removed the seats to give more room & polished up the brake lines.

The line at top I polished and the two after the splitter hasn't been done.

I'm going to be fitting the rose jointed lower arms from Saxon Motorsport and I'm in talks with Dave Spires about uprated springs and reworking my dampers to suit (thanks to NigeP for pointed me in his direction).

I got new ball joints & wheel bearings ready to be fitted and also noticed a split in the gaitor for the track rod end so I've ordered a new set. I'm still waiting on these rose joint rear beam bushes but may get the black Powerflex race bushes for now.

I have also purchased some solid front top mounts from Comp Brake but they do not fit, currently passing emails back and fore but if anyone knows of somewhere else then please let me know. The Mk2 Ibiza uses the same front top mounts as Mk3 Golf.

Also I have some bug pack rear top mounts that I had but never fitted when I first fitted my coilovers so may fit them BUT I am on the look out for solid or race spec mounts so if any of you know where I can get them from please share. They are the same mounts that are used on the Mk2 Golf.

Dave have you decided on what set up your going for spring/shock wise? And are your front shocks rebound adjustable?

Looking at buying compbrake top mounts for my mk3 but have a funny feeling there not going to fit either after reading a few threads.

I had that feeling to, even asked if they 100% fit!

Bilstein are going to just beef up the dampers to suit the spring choice, I'm looking at 900lbs on the front & 550lbs on the rear. So quite a lot really :)

Dropped the uprights & strut brace up to PPS Powder Coatings & my radiator up to AH Fabrications this afternoon, should hopefully have them back at the end of the week and I'm going to be ordering some Powerflex Black series rear beam bushes tomorrow & run them until the rose joint ones are made up.

you did not think to do with turrets to avoid drafts changes in camber angles supports?
and you can also put more camber shims in amount, it is better!

Few little updates, I missed the post man yesterday so I got to wait till tomorrow to collect my rear beam bushes so went ahead with making my bush removal tool & took the bushes out ready.

Save spending £30 on something that can easily be made!

Tomorrow I'm going to pop down to Gripz (my mates garage) to use his press & fit the wheel bearings to the uprights I just had powder coated.

Went to fit the solid lower arms this afternoon but found a part of the sub frame that needs to be grinded slightly to give more room for movement but its too thick to file down & I don't have a grinder or grinding disc so a trip to B&Q tomorrow.

Had plans to do a bit today but woke up late off nights & missed the post, etc... One of them days when nothing falls right!

They lookuch better than the compbrake ones

Got to mod my compbrake ones to fit after asking if they will fit with out modding them or the car

The ones I had from them had no chance in fitting, unless I put them on a lathe and cut about 20mm off so stuff that.
