Looks nice, what does it sound like? I've been thinking about getting a r tech heat shield and they come with these filters. Will be interesting to see how you get on with it.

How much are they charging for their kit ?
You can get the filter on it's own for £43 on ebay and a shiel will cost you only about £20 (At a guess)

Sounds great Darren, as does the 008. How are you getting on with the latest front splitter? Will it have a CF finish or will you be painting it like your current one? I look forward to seeing pictures of the new splitter :)

The Mk1 is looking pretty bad now, the laquire has gone a bit cloudy so the Mk2 might have to go on with no Carbon for a while

How about buffing up the resin finish? Or getting a 2K based Lacquer applied by a spray shop? It would look so nice with a glossy carbon finish...mmm....

Did you ever get to the bottom of why the clear resin didn't cure properly? It happened to me on one occasion, and I was sure I had the right mix ratio. It kind of put me off the CarbonMods kit for a while, but it looks great when you get it right.

The Mk1 has had it mate, the big puddle I went through saw to that :D

I think the the reason the resin was seperating was due to the mix ratio, also I was using an alcohol spray that we use at work to degrease the surface between coat's which I dont think was helping, I changed to the wipes they sell in Halfords and the problem went away.

I saw the pictures unfortunately mate :( My thoughts were towards V2. Keep us updated with lots of pictures. It makes such a nice addition to the LCR splitter. If only the RS4 splitter wasn't so wide...

Oh, and I didn't see TED sprayed onto the foam filter, like the AKS one :)

I'm going to a RR day there at the end of the month and they on offer at £99. They custom fit them so they're an air tight fit on the bonnet. Usually £120 I think.

eBay heat shields are crap they don't cover any thing the r tech one makes the unit sealed

We didn't say anything about eBay heat shield Dan, It's the PiperX filter that you can get off eBay.
If you've taken the sound proofing off the underside of the bonnet then it would need to have a rubber strip around the top of the shield to make it sealed, Like what's at the back of the bonnet.
