Erm once you find Derek an R32 wheel please can you help me locate one..

Are you sure Tom

Haha I was thinking that but tbh trawling thru your thread is fine as plenty of pretty pictures for me.

That's what I like to hear I think it looks alot more classy as well.

No need iv got a mint one lined up back in Scotland (unless you can beat £130) which I think seems fair

Thats not bad if it is mint, They should be a nice dull blackish leather if it's been looks after.
I think mine was around £220, Maz got it new and I got it off him.

You seem to be able to pic them up on eBay for around £160+ but from what iv seen conditions vary

Hope mine looks half as good as your, I'd be happy with that
Condition of mine I sold to Daz was perfect.

People dont really know how to look after steering wheels properly to keep the leather soft and matt. They need regularly cleaning as they get dirty very quickly.

This came to day from Awesome GTi

I'm hoping this along with the replacement Forge hoses I've got for under the inlet manifold will fix the boost problem.

I could'nt get the hoses off from under the manifold so they will have to wait for now.

I've also tightend up all the TIP clips which have wrked loose and checked all the other's, I've taken it for a run yet so I'll see how it is tomorrow.

I've got a lot planed for the car over the next couple of month's the first which I'm hping to make a start on tomorrow is a new induction kit.
I've decided to go with a PiperX C0187 cone filter, There are mixed views on these regarding flow V's filteration but I've been using PiperX filters for a long time now and had no problems with them.

It's about 200mm x 200mm with an 80mm opening.

I've already got the extra bit of pipe from my last atempt and I've just got another joiner to push it as far over as poss.
Once I've got it sitting how I want it I'll be making my own heat shield, I'm going to use a Jabba one as a template and see if I can tweak it a bit and hopfully it'll be made from Carbon Fibre [B)]

Future plans;
First up something thats been well over due, I need to get over to AmD and get the full stage 2 map put on. My current map has been on the car for about 5 years now and even though it's had a few tweak's along the way and always made good power I think it's now time to match the software to the hardware thats now on the car, Things have moved on a lot since the car was first mapped so the full stage 2 should make a big difference.

I've got a few cosmetic mods to sort too, The first being to finish the Mk2 splitter, It's now cut to the size and shape I want so next stage is to order some Carbon and wrap it.
I'm going to try aim for spring to get the car into the body shop to get the front and rear bumpers resprayed, the LCR splitter needs a respray too and the Carbon center needs some attention.

Then the big one........................................ New wheels, That is if the Mrs lets me
I've got a couple of designs in mind which I'll keep to myself for now but it's going to look good [B)] It's sooooo bloody hard finding something that looks right and fit's properly.

This new set up is going to have to be special as this is what it's replacing
IMG_4407.jpg

The first job was to make a template, I used El's Jabba shield for this.
IMG_4404.jpg

It's made from the same 5mm Foam board that I use for the Splitters
IMG_4404-2.jpg

Unfortunatly the bit that goes under the strut brace snaped off,

At the moment it sitting just right but it's not got the base on it yet, The Mk2 will fit better and will be wraped in Carbon :D

I was going to ask you where you got yours from :) For now I've used the fluffy side of some sticky back velcro

Will you be extending the shield to go under and then to the other side of the strut brace. Any chance you can send me the height measurements for the jabba shield? I'm due a new one and want to make sure I get it spot on.

I'm not too sure how I'm going to do the bit around the strut brace yet.
When I get it right I'll send you a template ;)
