Cheers chaps,
Yeh boost is on 5 and timing 6. Boost originally on 9, then we put it to 6. At 6 it was STILL peaking at 1.8-1.9 bar!!!!!!
Literally the boost set at 5 was only a short term thing. As in 2-3 weeks max, but they (INA) seem to be dragging this out big time. Maybe they are making them from scratch lol.

Yes there's a definate 'holding back jolt' kind of along the same lines of hitting the 'max speed' in a HGV that is limited to 58 mph for example. In a HGV it cuts everything and if you are not aware it shocks the hell out of you lol.

I have no way of logging, everything still seems fine. Car is rapid but is definitely holding back. It NEEDS to hold back to save my rods ;)

How are you measuring boost, boost gauge? Were you seeing 1.8/1.9 on a rolling road or an actual road? What gear were you in? On my local rolling road I see peaks of about 1.8bar in 4th, or on an actual road in 2nd or 3rd, you shouldn't be seeing peaks of 1.8 or 1.9 bar in 4th on a real road.

Also your holding back could be that your timing is too high and you're getting timing pull. I had boost = 6 and timing = 4 and I was getting timing pull, and a slight sense of hesitation just after coming on boost.

Bottom line - get your car logged for the blocks in my last post, I'd be holding off doing any more mods until you get it sorted, or at least checked out.

Defo no boost leak. The boost shoots up to 1.5-1.6 bar and holds (just after this jolt thing) its clear that it's holding back.

8 bit we done various runs in 4th gear on a dual carriageway. Boost 9 went straight to 1.9 bar and held at 1.7-1.8 so VERY VERY DANGEROUS. So we turned it down to boost 6 and it was holding 1.6-1.7 bar. STILL BAD.

If u look at the previous page you will see proof of the gauge. I don't have vag com so I don't know what the engine is doing but generally the defi's are accurate.

Alex was the one that said to turn the boost down. I loved it but I also realised the damage to the turbo and engine at this setting.

Have you ever replaced the N75? Someone needs to log N75 cycle for requested boost vs actual as a possible route.

Point i was making is that there's a good chance your timing is too high - this will lead to high correction factors which "feels" like flat spots or hesitation. Up to you, if it was me then I'd want to be sure the car was running right before upping the power with more mods.

EDIT - also, just cos your boost hits 1.5/1.6 bar doesn't mean no boost leaks - I had one and my boost was making request just fine. Only way to know is to get it tested.

Yeh I understand you guys but as the boost was put to 5, the fact is it was always only ever going to be temporary. So the car will be 'properly' stage 2 mapped after the manifold and rods.

I DO trust Alex and he would/will know any side effects to dropping the boost and so I assume he adjusted things accordingly.....just to make sure I will ask him what timing it is on.

I can't mod the car anymore than it already is and because I do very short distances the car should be fine hopefully. As I said its still mega healthy as it pulls like a train still.

If it's hesitating or there's a jolt/dip in the power delivery then there's something wrong, end of.

I think I'm going to start slowly collecting parts for when I get around to fitting rods. Especially after hearing how long you've had to wait. You never no at this rate I might have mine fitted before you:D.

Cheers mark I will try and find the code out for you.

Redbull it has taken soooo long now I'm very very tempted to maybe cancel the order but I can't because a) I have a manifold to be fitted too and this is something I defo want doing but is not advisable without rods and b) cos I really need this car completing.

It was a challenge for me in the very early days to get it to be one of the best kept, complete in every way, stage 2 LCRs. I did struggle a few times with regard to work etc but I still kept her. I STILL won't get rid (can name a handful of the 'old skool' forum members on here that are still just as dedicated) Ronin225, jamesParkin, t0m, probee, RDS, worzel etc etc

Frustrating I know mate, but I'd hang fire at this point and wait for the delivery. It'll be worth it, defo. It may be that others might choose other retailers (me maybe) having learnt from your experiences. Besides, it'll be winter soon and the roads will be terrible, so the engine work would be a nice spring time edition... Is Alex doing it for you? He seems to get nothing but praise for his work...

Hopefully the engine continues to run safely and you manage to find the cause, what ever it maybe. I disconnected my battery last week whilst leaving it in my garage; ran really well yesterday... Would it benefit from a TB reset??

It'll be worth the wait buddy :)

I wish but unfortunately no.
We placed an order for these through DM sometime back in July and are still waiting for the items to arrive. I posted an update in sam's group page for all of those to read. Again I do appreciate the patience and I am confident this will be the last time we will have a delay with supplying these components as I have placed a substantial order to avoid situations like this in the future.
Also everyone who ordered from that GB get a free set of the INA coil Pack adapters.

Just hold tight , there is a reason these guys have a class reputation to uphold.

Still waiting for rods! I want my mani and other gubbins fitted! Lol

Also may take up AKS Tuning's offer of a rear ARB for 25% discount too. Think then the car will be perfect.

Do you think it may be worth asking Issam if he can supply you with another make such as IE, Scat or Brute.
