Ok so my Relentless Tubular manifold arrived today. Speedy delivery or what? As always the pictures aren't fabulous, but you get the idea....

Hi bud,
just replacing the old NGK BKR7EIX Iridium's. Looked in my receipts and they been in over 2 years. I know they are iridiums so should last ages, but because the engine will be open, i may aswell get new plugs too huh?

Was going to purchase some copper NGK 7s, but cant be assed changing them every 5k miles.

Yeh the rod kit seems to be taking a while, but i absolutely cant wait to get them in alongside the manifold. Almost seems a shame not to go all out and go BT like yourself dude!

Cheers willy, yourself and a couple of others swayed me to get it. Would of really kicked myself if i didnt do it.

It absolutely flies now if im honest, like a caged animal.... and i had the boost turned down (for the sake of the rods!)

I put my name down for a trackday at Blyton Park at the end of September, but due to the rods taking a while i am unsure whether to do it on standard rods or just put it off? Hmmm

Many people running stage 2 for years with no probs but i understand the butt dyno worrying you
When your on the track rarely will the revs drop below 3.5k so if you have graphs from when it was mapped have a look at the torque curve see if with the reduced boost you'd be happy hoofing it.
Always nice to have a future proofed engine when done too if you ever decide to go BT

Ok so a very boring update, but an update nonetheless. Still waiting for the rods, so in the meantime I purchased some OEM gaskets for the turbo and manifold, and some new spark plugs heat range 7 (same as before). Was gonna go for copper ones, but the iridiums will be fine.

Looking good! I'm a way off doing the rods but keep thinking about buying the relentless just to look at. It's a nice bit of car po rn. Are you thinking of fitting WMI at some point?
Im not going to be able to drive the track day either. Why don't you come down and watch will still be good to meet everyone.

Cheers dude, yeh as I'm still waiting for the rods it may not be too wise to track it. Just need to get my oil cooler too and will be moving onto cosmetics.

Hmmm with regards to WMI. Ihavent really looked into it/read up on it as much as I should of if I'm honest. I know the gains are good, just the fitting and regular maintenance I dunno if I could deal with. I just want 'plug in and go' lol.

Yeh I may just shoot up there for the day actually. Looks like fun.

Loool I meant in regards to mixing the methanol, buying the methanol, storing the methanol, servicing of the kit?, how much it uses in relation to how heavy the right foot is, and lastly mounting the system!

Sounds like a lot of hard work and grief to me haha

I think fitting the kit is straight forward. As far as mixing it, it's just like a big gin and tonic with out the slice and ice. There's also a low level warning included in the AEM kit.

no pain no gain... is an apt saying :)

I use local biodiesel supplier for meth... pretty reasonable for 25ltr - £30 or so.. from memory

lasts a long time.. Our lupo runs it, and its a couple of months since I topped it up.. It flashes when its low so you know when to refill.. No different to screenwash, fuel tank etc

We use a 1gal tank in lupo (AEM kit)
tank and pump live in the boot. under the carpet in the wheel well. (no spare type), next to the battery which also lives in the boot.

Yeh man, well the fogs had been out for a good 3 years before the FMIC. As the fogs blocked the SMIC's!

I don't think you can run the fogs with this intercooler (I could be wrong), but you also have the option of buying mini fogs on eBay instead.

Since fitting the 3" cold air feed to front bumper I had to completely cut out the fog light mounting bracket too....so tbh now them fogs will NEVER go back on the car, even resale time :(

I tried to refit the fogs when I fitted my Toyosports FMIC and no chance. No even close unless I got something wrong lol. The cooler is well worth the loss of the fog lights though.
