Looks spot on mate, this gave me plenty of inspiration for mine in the early days. Out of interest what do you use to remove the scratches under the door handles?

Cheers chaps, needs front and rear bumpers and wheels refurbing yet....they are embarrassing!

RDS just normal 'silver' T-Cut in the tube. Go very very lightly with it, but super amazing stuff. All come out a treat.

Ok so i thought ECU Adaption was a myth but it seems im eating my words....exhaust has been on around 700 miles which is 2.5 tanks of fuel. Before the exhaust i would regularly get 340 miles to a tank (180 at halfway point). My last tank was still reading the same amount hence huge relief from me lol. However having made the exact same journey, same method of driving, can see 300 to a tank (160 to halfway). So thats 40 miles per tank disappearing??? Is this purely down to the car not setup for the new modifications? Doesnt really bother me as i knew what i was signing up for when i bought the car, just 40 odd miles though?

........Anyway, my mate came out in my car recently, he owns a mk1 LCR too, and has driven lots of fast Vauxhalls over the years and he commented on how 'tight' 'smooth' 'seamless' and 'controlled' my car is at the moment.

Just something to bear in mind any people that are thinking of going the polybush route. I use SuperPro and trust me, the car is so much more comfortable than the performance bushes of old. I still remember being in cars that were rock hard and undrivable.

Get em done t0m it's a subtle mod but brings the car together. Running uprated suspension on standard bushes isn't really recommended.

Comfort levels are great buddy.

I think when I get back from Ibiza in early September I will be booking it in :D

Might be getting my new clutch that month also :D

Only heard brilliant feedback of Superpro bushes. Maz had the whole kit on his TDi with a hybrid turbo, more torque than our LCR's, yet really put it down so well. He rated the bushes just as you do. Can't wait!

3" COLD AIR FEED TO FOGLIGHT.

b28f0f44.jpg

Ok, so had a tiny box come for me today, had been running a TINY 3" feed for a long time and so i thought it would be worthwhile to maximize the air to the filter. It extends to 1 metre and is just basic plastic which was what i wanted. Went to SFS to get a feed ages ago and had to toy with the idea of 1 ply or 2 ply ducting. Obviously as i have the intercooler piping next to it i didnt want to have rust running onto the piping, which unfortunately the 1 ply would cause.

For some reason decided against the 2 ply due to a) the cost, which was £28 for 1 metre, WITH 25% forum discount. (Yes it was that dear), and b) they only did red oxide which is a tangerine orange colour!

The ducting came to a massive £13.99 and had 2 black trumpet ends and 2 jubilees which i think is great value.

A picture of the ducting my filter had been relying on for air for a couple of years!

After inspecting it, seemed a good bit of kit.

Had a look at IF it would fit, and with fingers crossed made a start. I removed the grill, had a look, and due to my piping for the intercooler, realised i still had virtually NO room to fix it in place. Started to remove my jabba heatshield, then realised just taking out the filter would be easier. Soon realised to make it all fit i would have to remove the plastic plynth thingy that the foglights mount to. Nooooo i didnt want to cut it, as if i ever want the car to go back to standard, the fogs have to go back in. Oh well, maybe i can sell the fogs on eBay now.

This is how i wanted it to go. Seems easy right....in theory?

After butchering a tiny bit of plastic off of the foglight plynth, fed the tubing down the the desired place. Was hard going as i had to move the HID ballast and a few other things. Pushed it down as far as i could and left it. Pushed the grill back on, and managed to bend one of the legs [:@] Its not a flush fitting due to the intercooler piping which is annoying but i imagine it will do a better job of getting some air to the filter than the old way. Filter went back on, and now it kind of rests on top of the trumpet end of the ducting. (Should be less rattling i hope). Its a tight squeeze and not the most professional fitting but it will do.

Took it for a spin to make sure everything was ok, and tbh, as you would expect: it feels no different :cartman:

Just waiting for my new low profile jack, then i can get my 15mm spacers on the front. Cheers for reading....

nice little job there, and what a great conclusion!! :D
depending on the routing though, but couldn't you see some ram air effect? like at 100mph+ or something?

Hi Bret! Car looks beautiful! I made it to page 12, but it started to make my own car feel like a dog by contrast which in turn to led to me feeling a little sad, so I've decided to stop reading now.

I'm going to go and read 'Shed of the Week' on PH to pick myself back up

Well I don't know if you remember AmD were doing a deal on fitting for the bushes a couple months back? Well, as AmD are quite far, I asked the tt shop in Bedford if they would price match it as they were doing my brakes all round, front ARB, Allignment and service at the same time. They price matched it for about £480 supplied & fitted IIRC. As they had the car for a day and half I have no idea on actual fitting time for the bushes, SOS bud.

Get it done buddy, car feels so much more comfortable and composed. Even pootling around town. Just seems to compliment everything else.

Also when your on a bit of a blast, the car bites that little bit extra. I never really felt the need for a rear ARB, and I still stand by that comment no matter what others may say.
