Lol it's still adapting but will get a write up later. May get Alex to turn boost up a tad though. May invest in the SPS also. How long does it normally take to adapt?

Week or so I'd say, will dig the SPS manual out, it explains all the setting. Sorry I meant to reply to you on fb but I forgot.

Cheers chaps, yeh i asked Alex and the fueling cant be changed. Im waiting for the car to fully adapt before i do a full review, and unless i have already said, the car is the stage2 + linear map which worked out £50 dearer than the normal stage 2.

At the minute boost is 6 and timing is 4. When we were doing 4th gear on the road data logging (in the wet no less, and yeh i was shitting it) lots of times hitting 1.8 or 1.9 bar boost and holding 1.6 bar. Turned the boost down to 6 and it holds just below 1.6 bar. As i will explain in my review atm gear number 3 feels absolutely savage. Car takes off like a scalded rat.

Ideally want to do some logs to see if my intercooler is doing its job properly too. Anyway will do a full review as soon as i can, but in the meantime i had a few packages turn up...

The gasket that i need to change come Mocal 13 row oil cooler time...other bits will be posted as and when i get them. Now im running a good stage 2 map, i need everything to work efficent. Hence catch can, baffled sump and good oil will soon be on their way.

0022.jpg

Then when i was fitting my cold air feed to the bumper the other day, i posted pictures of how it sort of looked. But because i have intercooler piping in the way, i couldnt get the 3" ducting over the rear of the foglight coving as much as i liked, so i tried bodging it further. Hooray i got it to fit snug, but one side of the grill never 'clicked' in place, and so i assumed it would stay there. Erm, no, it fell off and i retraced my driving steps and i could nt find the damn grill.........hence another purchase.

0012.jpg

While i was there it would be rude not to buy something that ive needed for YEARS. Genuine too. Will laquer them when either i, or a wheel refurbisher does my wheels.

0042.jpg

Last but not least had another box turn up too....not interesting AT ALL. But i sooo needed it.

007.jpg

Yep its a low profile jack. Need this to refurb my brembos properly and at MY OWN PACE too. Never will i have to remove those poxy jacking point covers and fart ass about getting them back in.

0082.jpg

Thats it for now, like i say, next is oil cooler, catch can, and Revo 2 review. If anyone is interested lol.

Good work Bret, heading in the right direction for sure.

Top little purchases also, fair play you throw money at this project like quite a few of us have done on here and it's really showing now.

Good to see you've got the love back again Pal. :) Interested to hear you thoughts on the Revo stage 2 map, i'll also be interested to see how she does at AmD on the rollers, as i'll be looking to get the Revo stage 2, once i've got my FMIC sorted that is. ;)

Good call on the low profile jack, i have to drive mine onto a brick before i can get my jack under my car lol Right PITA.

Shouldn't have to change the oil housing to block gasket. Just needs the oil/water heater removing to fit the thermostatic plate.

You need some axle stands to go with that jack now :)

Ok so a small update done a swap with someone wanting rid of their 10mm hubcentric spacers. I initially wanted 15mm on the front but thought 10s would be safer.

Also after a expensive few months have kinda realised that I may aswell go 'all out' now so next payday will get the INA rod package, manual timing belt tensioner kit and MAYBE exhaust valves, with oil pump and new water pump.

The car had the all important cambelt change last year, so I'm hesitant to get another, but as the engine will be apart it may be wise to? Literally this is just to strengthen the engine up. I've always brought the best stuff for the car and the rod package should see it live for longer hopefully.

Also, getting an oil cooler 13 row and catch can kit with a nice baffled sump and good oil too. I REALLY LOVE MY CAR LOL.

All work will be done at AKS Tuning as and when Alex gets better.

Cheers for reading.

I would say 6000 at most tbh. As the parts are relatively cheap and it's apart anyway isn't it wise to upgrade? I was just thinking of having the belt (that comes with the INA kit) instead of the full timing belt kit but that maybe false economy. :(

BREMBO REFURB.

Ok, so it was a lovely day and i honestly wanted to start earlier but i didnt even begin masking up until 1pm. As anyone will tell you the hardest and thing that takes the most time is in the masking....will do he rears maybe in a few days.

I used to paintspray years ago and so i relished the chance to do my calipers, but they were always going to be done in situ. Funny how there is NO wind when i drove to my mates, but come masking time its like a hurricane appeared from nowhere [:@]

Ok, i used Hammerite smooth red as an Aerosol can is so easy maintenance and i challenged myself to get a nice finish with one. Was quite suprised as i never got ANY overspray at all :D

Lots of pictures

Cleaned inside the wheel area, not great, but actually thought there would be more dirt as its NEVER been cleaned before.

I started flatting down with wet & dry (very fine gritt) and using a red skotchbrite. Before this i scraped any bubbling paint/laquer off with a sharp scraper. Then used a good degreaser on the caliper and dried off using a hairdryer. Paint all keyed.

Finished masking the car up, used gaffa around the caliper and 2" tape with newspaper for the rest of the car. Gave the car 3 or 4 coats of paint and used the hairdryer inbetween.

Inbetwwen this, cleaned my standard alloy front and back properly.

After 6 or 7 coats (my Brembos were in such a state so needed this many coats) i took a couple more pictures.

Yes buddy, not worth doing them today.

Also taking my car to AKS Tuning tomorrow to try and stp my turbo peaking too high, i love the 1.5 bar power to 6k plus, but need to curb the spiking until i get my rods and Gates timing belt kit next month.

Just means im gonna have low power and torque for the upcoming RR day.

My car always held at 1.5 bar but when the N75 valve died it was spiking to 1.8/9, very high when booting it.

New N75, and it's back to where it should be. Just thought I'd throw that into the mix ;)

Nice work on the brembo refurb, looks ubber clean.
Don't get too hung up on peak boost etc as when you run lower boost the car compensates and runs higher timing which does not necessarily result in lower bhp.
I have a hybrid with rods that can run very high boost but it ultimately kills performance so i seldom exceed 1.5 bar. By caping the boost the way you intend is the way forward for sustained performance and car longegevity. High boost gives great torque spikes on a rr print out but the smart enthusiast will be looking at the total area under the curve which rarely is given by the cars boosting thier tits off. Just my 2p.:)
