Had originally ordered normal H beam rods and after reading and speaking to people i decided to upgrade to rifle drilled ones especially due to running a stroker with its increased throw of crank causing more movement on the little end

Update but not of the good kind
This 16804 catalyst bank 1 below threshold is back and getting muchos worse
I'm being raped MPG wise and bangs all the time, whilst stinking of unburnt fuel at standstill especially when cold enough so i think you could run another car off my exhaust fumes
After looking at a few suggestions i can only see it being one of three things
1. Dead dying lambda - need to log these to see which if any is broken (any info on what normal readings should be??)
2. Split/ loose exhaust - System is blueflame so stainless so only joints should be an issue, only problem is the S3 is using all my axle stands so i cant get under the leon
3. Vac leak - I have replaced nearly all the vac and boost lines, only thing i havnt done is PCV removal but surely this wouldnt cause such overfuelling and permanent EML
I have a 100 cell cat but it flew through emissions MOT time (5 months ago) without even being very warm so wouldnt have thought its died but this constant banging wont be doing it good at all
Any help guys?

There is only one bank on mk1 Leons, sensor 1 is pre-cat and sensor 2 is post-cat. The code description on the Ross Tech wiki doesn't say that one of these is at fault necessarily so I'd be checking for boost/vac leaks, exhaust leaks or busted exhaust gaskets before spending any money personally.

It could easily be a lambda right enough but when mine went it threw a code which specifically mentioned which lambda it was. If your fuelling is that badly out then I'd have thought the pre-cat lambda would be totally shot and flagging its' own code.

Pre cat does fueling, post cat does efficiency of the cat AFAIK

+1

What does the rest of the fault code say - after the bank 1 does it mention sensor 1 or sensor 2? If it's "bank 1 sensor 1" that refers to the pre-cat and therefore fuelling.

Tim has the free ware version and i know the code doesn't mention any sensor which mine did when my post cat sensor went, he is coming over to mine tomorrow so i will stick my registered version of VCDS on and see if we get any more detailed codes, but i did say to Tim yesterday that it may be an exhaust issue.

Cheers for the input guys, no sensors mentioned in the code just bank 1
Noticed how oily PCV is again today so this must be split so wont be helping
I'll sort this and try and log the precat lambda just to be sure its definitely gone

The LCR only has one bank cos it's only got one exhaust. Sensor 1 is the pre-cat and sensor 2 is the post-cat. Not that it matters anyway really, but right enough the post-cat one won't screw with your fuelling. When my post-cat lambda was shot i was getting a fault code related to Bank 1 Sensor 2.

After scanning the car on friday and clear the fault again the car has got lots better
I've driven about 150 miles and no EML back on and MPG is back in the top of the twenties
Looks like it will be an intermittent fault or car just thrown a wobbly, its not 100% but lots better
I really need to sort out the PCV hoses first and keep an eye on it coming back

Had a nice delivery today, something track orientated
2012-06-01180832.jpg

Yes, these are the same set of wheels graham was going to have from the guy breaking the BTCC car with medium compound slicks
I would guess that these weigh only half as much as OE LCR equivelent wheel
The only down side as pointed out by prawn is that some tracks require you to have a cage if you run slicks due to the much increased chance of rolling
I think i'll try and get one more trackday in on my vreds then try these out (but not really push it)
By then i may have decided to get a sensible second car and cage out the leon, but time will tell

Very nice buy these. What's the wheel dimensions and tyre sizes on these? Would love to get a set of these if I went a bit more serious with tracking the car

17" and 9j wide, makes me laugh all over the tyre it has 'competition use only' written
I dont know if the guy has any sets left though
Would you be caging yours??

Putting a cage in mine has never been on the plan but then iv never heard this about needing one if using slicks. To be fair though I'd probably stick semi slicks instead just intrigued to know how these fit over the brembos and the tyre dimensions as the side wall seem thick
