Thanks mate, I was looking at this seller too but as it did not say Seat I thought they were the wrong ones.

Does anyone know if you can attach the 3 button half to a 2 button end half? I do need a blank blade but don't really wanna pay out for the entire thing again prob be cheaper to buy the blade and half the fob separately!

I've not tried it, though I think you can.

If I remember I'll grab the 2 button key for dad's van tonight and see if my top (blade) half fits his remote half.

Cheers dude!

Haha shouldn't really be buying things....moving out in 2 weeks....

Ahhh well!
I'll make you feel better... the 3 button fob was one of the best mods I made to my car for the money. £20 for a mod you use everyday... it's sad but you'll spend the first day or so just looking at the damn thing and playing with it's "flip"

Hahaha oh god I'm going to look like a nutter. Its £35 for one with the key and everything. Then still got to get it cut I assume so its going to be 40-45 quid really.

Worth every penny though, certainly feels better than the standard non-flip 2 button fob and looks the part too.

I've just purchased 2 from him (admittedly the 2 button style) and they're perfect - they even come with the metal emblem rather than gel or otherwise.

They seem expensive, but if you compare the price he sells them for against the full price from the dealer then it's a no-brainer! The 2 I've purchased should hopefully be cut and coded/programmed for slightly less than 1 original (non-flip 2 button) fob from the dealer.

After about 9 month i got my flip key back since the blade snapped this one takes a tiny bit of jiggling to pul in and out of the ignition think this is why eventually the old one snapped should i take it back to the locksmith you think? Paranoid about using it after what happened.

You normally find thats just a slight mismatch due to the new key and the worn barrel. i wouldnt panic to much. was the blade a cheap ebay special?

Hey Steve, It was not the cheapest i wanted to buy form a company that bought them from the manufacturer since my last one snapped (i was VERY lucky work mate managed to get it out with needle nose pliers and used a work car to nip home and get my spare key). i am worried the slight pressure and over time it may happen again and i know this happened to couple of others on here.

sounds to me like a combo of poorly cut blades, cheap blades or worn locks. at work we use this company http://www.klck-ltd.com/ who will supply and cut flip key blades (decent quailty ones). if you ask your local SEAT dealer to obtain your 4 digit key code you will get the best cut key as its the code SEAT would cut it to (better match then the guys who decode is from a picture).

Give the code to KLCK and tell them Steve from Colbornes VW sent you there way they might give you extra discount :D

Bit late but thanks already had the hassle of going to the shop 4 times!!! Basically these kind of keys they have to buy a machine that only cuts those keys and nothing else so they are not always easy to come by as obviously they cost alot of money to buy do gotta be worth while for the locksmiths to buy. They sent my key to their Brighton shop to be done so they would cut load of them in a city that size.

When it does snap you will be up the creek that's for sure as I say I was very lucky I happened to be at work and that work allowed me to borrow a car to go home which again luckily for me is only 5 mins away. I could have easily been stranded on my own miles form my spare key!

he blade I have bought is from the manufacturer according to ebay (who knows thou) but TPS would not sell me a blank blade when I asked!
