Hey Mark.. I need to ask a Q about the Mk3.. How did you fit your B pillar Vinyl.. I have just got some delivered from SEREMotors.. Anychance you could point me in the right direction. Heres a pic of what I have received.. Thanks

I recently did mine, basically clean the surface down real good, you want to remove all those greasy marks that will effect the sticking ability of the vinyl.

Then peal off say half of the backing strip, spray with soapy water. and line it onto the area. then working your way down the strip push out all the air bubbles and creases. (some kitchen roll wrapped around a credit card/ your thumb is good for this), as you work down it then peal of the rest of the backing strip.

Use a hairdryer as you go to dry out the water and thus stick the vinyl.

That's the just of it, and i hope it makes sense. :)

Looking back its very very easy, that may be because i just wrapped a full face mtb helmet a few weeks back.[B)]

It looks great! Red with wrapped badge would have looked better imo, but it still looks hench! New sig picture? :)

yeah agree fully, problem is red vinyl is an extortionate price compared to black. additionally the red probably wont look good as it wont be the same shade as the bodywork.

So if it was to be red it would need to be painted. and that's just not cool lol

I do think he should get the badge wrapped black as well though.

Cheers for the comments guys! The next thing on the list is lowering, I'm thinking a 30mm drop. Have another thread about it somewhere.

The other thing is wheels.

I spotted some mk1 Leon FR alloys for sale and Davy did a quick photoshop for me (also lowered it a bit).

Heres how it currently sits

And the same but done in grey

Hmm, looks okay... Have you thought of copying, to an extent, Techie's old boc? mk4 Cupra starfish (IIRC) alloys? Rare as rocking horse droppings, I know. And if the offers there for the FRs, I'd go for them. Leave them the colour they are though... don't like the grey on your car for some reason....but thats me :p

Lol - well it's too late to change the wheels plans, cos I got the Leon wheels for the bargain price of £205 on eBay.

Just waiting to get them shipped over here. The good news Jordan is that they will be getting sprayed anthracite! :)

Also looking at getting some decent lowering springs, hopefully have the wheels sprayed and the car lowered in a month or two! :)

Other things I've done:

Fitted the underseat storage boxes, and the lower glove box storage compartment. Pretty cheap mods, that give the Ibiza a lot more useful storage spaces, you mk3 peeps will be surprised to hear that SEATs glovebox technology has not moved on, and it's still barely big enough to even hold any gloves!

Also got a chrome exhaust tailpipe off eBay, cheap mod, looks ok and mainly saves the hassle of getting a custom back box when the standard exhaust is still fine. Maybe get a decent exhaust when the original one needs replacing.

Pics to come sometime, flat out working at the moment, so who knows when that'll be lol.

Looks great buddy! Black is definitely the right choice for the grille. Getting mine fitted in an hour or so along with my Cupra headlights and smoked side repeaters ;)

Thanks Gaz - got any pics of yours bet it looks great against the white.

I took some proper photos with the camera today, though they're not much better than the phone pics!

Next on the todo list is to get her lowered, and after that is sidekirts to make it look a bit lower between the wheels. :) A refurb for the alloys is on the cards too, cos they're a bit scruffy round the edges.

I agree with the wheels, definately the right choice.. And the exhaust looks good too.. I would go anthra with the wheels when they go for a refurb. Look top notch in the top picture. They look really sporty, and will look the dogs when the car has been dropped..

When she has been dropped.. Please, tell me pressed plates :)

Didn't get my grille fitted the other night, he forgot to bring the surround with him but have the Cupra headlamps in and they look a million times better. I'll get some pics up when I get the grille fitted too.
