i dont really agree

the gearbox wont let u shift faster than the gearbox did before....

Well if you are reducing movement (hence the short shift part) it would mean u would be changing gear quicker.I cant see the gearbox stopping you putting it in gear faster :lol::lol: hence the few seconds of gain over a standard gear change :D

been nearly a week now, and the gear selection is still giving me "resistance" as it engages the actual gear.

The way i would describe it is, for 1st, you move it to the right, then up a centimetre... then push a little harder and it goes into gear.

Im not sure this is normal or not, not having ran a short shift before.

im planning on reversing back to normal at the weekend to see if all is well and then if it is, then il stop being a girl and live with it!

is it catching the old redundant pin at all when putting it in gear?
i agree with steve though do a propper good reset, make sure you have some thing that fits the whole spot on, on the shifter (the locator bit under the gator), iv not done the short shif yet but have had to do a reset and mine was a little notchy but was due to the pin i used not being any good, mutch better now after using a "fcuk off" nail

Steve, have you done yours?? i know ya did the shifter

Evening all, i've just been out giving the short shift mod a bash and got the 3 clips, 2 cables and the nut off but can't get the shifter off the splined post. The forge guide said it'll be tight but just give it a wiggle and it will come off. Well i've been wiggling for half an hour, front to back and side to side but the f:censored:g thing just wont budge. For those who removed it to do the mod, how did you get it off? Drilling while its still fitted is not an option as i live in a second floor flat and my extension is not big enough to reach down to the car. Thanks in advance peeps.:)

does this mod work on cupra r because i marked mine up to drill and noticed that the gear linkage will sit on top of raised part of shifter when in second gear and snags up a bit .the forge one has not got the rasied side on it so wont snag is it me just being a bit slow:think:

Ive found this too any one explain more?
