I think I know the answer before I've even asked it, but has anyone tried this on a V5 5-speed box? The layout certainly looks very familiar although I can't remember exact details.

How tight is it supposed to be? It wasnt tight on there at all a 10mm bolt slootee in the linkage hole perfect but the 10mm was way not long enough and i didnt have washers for 10mm bolt.

Also i cudnt get the shifter itself
Off so i had to cut the 50mm long bolt down to get it up and in ans now its slightly to short for the nylon locking nuts so might have to put that on upside down.

So the bolt technically both not got enough length or girth :p but i packed the girth of the bolt out with electrical tape for a more snug fit and it should decrease wear from the bolts thread even though this is minimal.

Advise asap would be appreciated as its getting dark fast! :(

Nut on the underside as been done before.
My pin was made to the drawing below so is bigger than the 8mm bolt
Making the a sleeve of some description (tape even) should suffice.

iv just realised iv gone in the wrong way round? I put the bolt in from the bottom with a wash on, through the newly drilled hole washer on top, normal nut on that then linkage then a nylon nut on top? that ok? also should I have put a washer on before the nylon nut? there wasn't much bolt sticking up for the nylon nut as it was.

???

Ok real problems now I thought I got it right took it out for a test drive the gearing was dodgy as **** :S to get into first i had to push down like as if to go into reverse then go left as if to go into reserve then forward, reverse was further ver to the left, however if i went straight back from first it would go not go into second, i had to go back across to the right then back then forward from 2nd was 3rd i think. ohhh **** how the **** have i managed this to make it worse i think i might have trying to reset the linkages to much the left one with not

I got work at 7.45 tomorrow gota leave mine at 7.30 so need this sorted asap! help please
