You got the ina on at the moment like? Don't think I'll be getting one of them by the sounds of them! Ported standard one is the way forward I reckon, the ones we do fr that impreza specialist are supposed to work very well so hopefully the same with these ones! Think I'm gonna go hybrid k03s once I get bored of stage 2, will only need s3 maf, lcr/s3 injectors and the turbo. Be less than a grand if I can het a turbo cheap! Cr turbos hybrid them for 550. I know it's not too much more power but any more and reckon itl be too much in these little cars haha

If the turbo breaks, then just get one. Its a justified reason aha!

:) Might as well go big turbo if you are wanting more power. Hybrid KO3s won't get you much more power over standard set-up. I doubt it will satisfy your hunger.....

That's the thing don't think I'll be bothered about much more power or it will be too much. K03s manages more torque and power right across the rev range without having to do the internals etc big turbo would cost allot more as it's not a direct replacement, all pipework would have to be custom and the unit itself would cost more. K03s is just a direct replacement and not too expensive if you play your cards right. Hopefully it will be that or clutch, flywheel and diff eventually. Though if I see a good set of lcr/s3 injectors and maf come up cheap theycan be there in preparation!

And I'm hoping standard turbo won't go, it gets treated like a king haha

Yeah ive got an INA manifold on just now but its caused me nothing but problems since it went on so ive decided to return to standard manifold but i may aswell get it ported since its off the car!

You would maybe need rods for the hybrid as the torque comes in pretty early and is sometimes brutal, i thought about the hybrid option but i may aswell go all out and just go for the GT2860RS!

I guess one day you might buy another car with K04 or 2.0TFSI lump anyway!

I nearly did this time round haha couldn't quite afford it at the time and didn't want to borrow money, I woulda skinted myself :(

Yeh I think I'll get one done if/when hybrid goes on. Will be a long while yet :( I'll be forced into a holiday withthe missus first!

I'd get it mapped so it was less brutal low down as I've heard that too. Gt28 would be nice for future proofing (if you do rods and pistons then more boost) but can't see me doing that, need mine as a sensible daily haha

you need to get use to stage two before you even think about hybrid k03s although it dont take long to get use to stage two but im more than happy with stage two especially as i drive a transit and a tractor by day then jump in my car and it amazes me,i think if i didnt drive a transit and a tractor at work id be well bored of stage two already.

Daily driver mines hardly comes out mid week anymore usually just the weekend :p but i just went over 50k yesterday :( im looking for a bit of old school boost anyways so i think the 28 is the best option for me i dont know if ill bother with pistons as ive heard they can cope pretty well up to 400bhp anyways so rods for me

I do 60 odd miles a day during the week so will get used to it pretty quick I reckon. Do they pop and bang more once mapped? If they do I'm hoping mine will abit more with the 4 bar fpr

Yeah but the ecu does eventually learn and it stops doing it as much which is a shame.. since i put that new intercooler pipe on mine pops like mad can get good ones out 2nd and sometimes 3rd! Yours may pop a bit more with the 4bar fp

If you'd be swapping rods may aswell do the pistons at the same time anyway otherwise it would be labour to take standard ones off the rods, then new rings etc and installation costs to stick them back on the new rods. Shame you can't see the forged pistons once installed, they are awesome! Got some nice wiseco ones and ie rods at work, nice bits of metal lol

Mine does top of third to second and second to third, but that's it, I hope there is flames too haha yeh was just thinking with it feeding more fuel in at the top end it will do it abit more. Only 50 quid including fitting for the 4 bar fpr

About half that I think mate, especially if you get them from USA, like from ie off here and rods are like 270 quid from them I think too! Mines gonna hit 35k tonight :( I'll be up to your level in about 9 months lol

Just dropped car off at the mappers and spent abit of time with him whilst waiting for the gf to pick me up and he decided to try the launch contol file on it. And it works :D holds at 4k rpm in first then puts limiter to standard once your moving. He said it's a very very well hidden file on the standard ecu's!

Just gotta leave it with him now to map and will pick it up in a few hours

He said he's letting it cool down now then final run again to check everything. Said he tried the 4 bar fpr but it didn't make much difference as it was still duelling fine top end with the 3 bar one. Said it drives mint and nothing needs doing to it at all, so that's good news. Just said I could do with a better cold air feed! Said launch control works perfectly too!
