Yeah your right..

Just spoke to alex and it seem Oil gets in side the bearing anyway but he said with the tangs on it would take alot of effort to spin a bearing..

But the oil once warm will wash the torco off and it will them become sticky just like glue..Even he mentions that in the video..Just a Good top i didnt put alot on but once again its still a learning curve for me...

Thanks though

you've installed the rings and then going to set clearances?

To say the least i was really shitting my self as i didnt want to snap a ring due to how bloody expensive they actually really are...Anyway I took the old Rings of one piston and by following Vwvortex & Jepistons plus reading and watching them several times i learned out how todo them which was really straight forward...

Once they were on a quick phone call to alex to confirm they were done correclty i started on with the rest of them which to my suprise went really smoothly(For a change).

So tommorrow jobs are as the following:

* Set Clearances For the Rings Via Je piston website.

did I read that bit right danny?

Mucho respect Danny, great to see you getting stuck in and weathering the negetivity at times too (although sometimes we all need a bit to keep us on the right path ;)).
really looking forward to seeing your baby finished. please do double check your timing, fluids and comissioning pocedures as i'd hate to see you fall at the final hurdle.
hats off to backdraft too for helping you out.

Thanks very much willy it means alot..
yeah sometimes the critism did get to me which truely pissed me off but i was determand to have ago...But id did alot of genreal learning on procdures and how things need to be set and i never cut any corners hence it work out rather expensive due to purchasing the tools..

fair enought people had comment on it but i needed the todo it as modding/tuning cars is a true fetish for me... Backdraft & Cupramvr(John) have been a truely massive help but i they could only explain it for me i had todo it my self which was the scary parts...But i feel confident now alot more confident but i know my self not to be too cocky with it...

as it will come back and bite you in the arse

No what i ment by clearance bill was setting the rings in to postion its my fault for using the wrong discription..

I was told to use the Je website for instruction but i didn't in the end...Do you remeber a while back when i made a thread about doing this and you posted that link from Vw vortex?

Anyway i set the rings exactly how he said/done it in the video i watched it over and over then i watched it somemore but i ideally needed the piston in my hand then took it out and i used it as a guide...

Then i check everything over again before sealing the sump back on...when i said following it as a guide bill i even had the laptop at the side of me while doing it...But once i learned how todo one...then it was a doddle but i still took my time..
