My key blade didn't work first time either - had it cut at Timpsons, and it worked in ignition fine, but not in door locks or boot.

Took it back, and he took "a bit more off" (his words) and 2nd time around it worked ok. It's still a little tight in the locks, but it works, and I'll barely ever use them as I've got remote locking :)

Think i'm giving up on this. Bought a key, turned out to be just a shell. Then realised it is 315 MHz. Presume this wont work?

it does not matter what MHZ it is because you dont have the remote inside it lol, its just a shell makes no difference, im in the same boat

finally got the flip key working, had a new blade cut and fitted to the flip key and my friend took 15 seconds to get the transponder out of old key and into the new one!

was a bit of trouble trying to get the spring mechanism to work properly, its about 50% at the moment, still takes a bit of trouble to prop the key up! but the main thing is, its working :D

So I finally have all the bits for mine now. Still have a few questions as i'm now confused.

I bought a brand new key/transponder/button thing. With this is got a set of instructions as to how to make it work with the car. At no stage is there any mention of taking out the little chip thing from my spare key.

Got the key cut, just another quick questions.

When programming the key to the car, eg: key in ignition, press lock etc... do you put the old remote key that you used all the time, or the spare key with no remote?

Also with the little chip out the spare this will now start the car no problem. I tried without the chip, and it fired up then died...little brown pant moment...
