The Snap On head tool is the same price if not a little cheaper than that ebay item and had a lifetime warranty. The part number is SPDL10E.

Ive spent tonight cleanin all the coolant hoses and thermastat which were full of goo...

Now i can't seem to get the Thermastat housing to sit flush on the Plate its leaking abit and can't seem to sus how ive fitted it wrong..

Now i noticed from Dead cold it didnt take long few minutes on idle to heat up...to 90 but the fans still didnt kick in....Now i took the top hose off the header cap and zero water was coming out on idle and it looked hardly any when i rev'ed it...

Now are were talking a water pump now?But what could be causing the goo? the headgasket or Oil O ring on the cooler housing....

Water pump could of gone causing it to over heat and blow the head gasket.

The Water gauge hasn't gone past 90degrees never but i did notice with it full of water and the Hose to the thermastat off,it was just tricking out of the theramstat.

Im going to do a compression test tommorow then completly start stripping it down....My aim is to get the Inlet & exhaust manifold off,Empty oil & coolant,Remove charge pipe and rocker cover

then i can once ive got the Head tools remove the timing belt and Water pump along with alternator belt and Cyclinder head....

What is the Sump Like to get off? pain? if i can get it all stripped down once i get paid i can just crack on with it...Deglazing the Bores and Fitting the Rods and Rings...

will have the head rebuilt by then too....

plus gonna clear out the shed so i can neatly store and lable my parts & fixings

Now that My Big turbo conversion was all Done and running and producing good power for me...I was Next moving on to the bodywork But sadly a few days ago my water Pump Gave way...

So ive had to Put the Money else were in to the engine...I desided to Do a Full rebuild well as near as dam it..
What ever i could replace with the engine in situ from gasket to bearings ect..

So it sat for a few day while i pondered on what todo so i desided along with a few mates to pull it all apart and get it done..As it wouldn't get done by its self...

So i started by removing the Inlet manifold And Rocker cover then Drained all the coolant out which i had in it...
Then i got cracking on with the manifold on the IHI amazinly i don't have to take the turbo off or even downpipe so that makes faffing about alot less...

I know this might sound sad to people but as me doing this with mates i desided to box and lable everthing that i had taken off...Bit of organizing tbh:

How it looked after the BT conversion that i had done:

Then:

P1010006-2.jpg

I then Desided while it was in bits this would be my only and easiest chance to Smarten and Paint a few things..So i started with the Alternator to freshen up..Also painted brackets and Alt Tensioner to clean them up atleast:
P1010014-1.jpg

my pots of which i have many off:
P1010012-1.jpg

And current parts in order of which i took them off:
P1010013-1.jpg

So while its in bits i desided to uprate my rods as running 1.5bar at the limiter is in rod bending terrioty.As you can see a massive difference between the OEM rod and my Scat ones:
P1010018-2.jpg

I didn't get much done today due to it raining but tomorrow i want to get the :

* Oil Drained
* Remove Oil Sump
* Remove water Pump
* Remove Timing belt & Tensioner

Then once my Head Bolt Remover has arrived i can remove the 20v Cyclinder head and get it sent off to be full Rebuilt...Due to funds & time im gonna keep the OEM Valves but with New Springs and Guides ect...

While the pistons and Rods are Out im going to De-glaze the Bores with a 180 Grit hone then replace with new rings.Headgaskets,New Shims & gaskets...

Alot more pictures to follow...:

have a look in to the head bolts we use them when building engines will help with running more boost and able to take more temp so you achieve more bhp :D always a good thing

Your going to use 180 grit paper on your bores while the cranks in place?!! and while the engine is in situ?!

Think thats a good idea? - debris from the paper and bore all over your crank just for starters.....
