flip key info thread

this question has probally been asked already but i dont want to have to read the whole thread as its way to long.
my question is can i code a new flippy key to my car without vagcom or going to the dealers?

as ive got a new key on its way already got a blade cut to the car.
only have one key for my car and want to keep it as a working spare key hence the reason of buying a new key so i dont want to take the only key i have apart to put in my flippy key if that makes sence.
thanks in advance for any help it will be greatly apreciated.

the remote part = yes,
the transponder part = no

if you can get your skc off the dealer (unless you have it already, 4 digit code on a tag maybe came with your keys?) then you can just use vag com.

dealers dont like trying to code the flip keys unless it was standard fit, as they can be hit or miss.

the other option is to find an automotive locksmith

Right, I've read pretty much all 58 pages of this thread and initially thought that 1J0 959 753 CT would be the correct key for my 2001 Leon Cupra, however, it won't sync. Looking at previous pages it could be either a 1J0 959 753 A or 1J0 959 753 N that I need.

Can someone please confirm which key will work before I go and buy another one?

Thanks Mr B. What method did you use to synce the remote? I've tried all of the methods listed in this thread with little success

Well different methods seem to work on different keys for me: check my post http://www.seatcupra.net/forums/showpost.php?p=2434009&postcount=1145.

On the flip key, I did a slight variation to the standard method which is after puuting the ignition to on (but not engine on), lock the door (with window down), I held the lock button on the key for about six seconds, paused for a few second and then pressed and held the unlock button (got a wimpy horn sound at this point); then quickly unlocked the door and put the ignition off and took out the key.

if the dealers want me as a customer they will have to atleast attempt it lol.

I tried this method with no success yet again, I'm starting to wonder if I should by the 'A' flip key. Is there any way to cross refernce which key you need by looking at the alarm module or ECU? If so what am I looking for and where is it?

Proper confused...:confused:

Bought a flip key off ebay (2 button 433.92Mhz) got the key cut and transponder fitted so the car starts.

The problem is i cannot for the life of me program the remote. I've tried no end of different methods. So i've gone and bid on a 434Mhz key on ebay as this is the same frequency as my original. (i bought the 433.92Mhz because i didnt think it mattered?!)

Anyway, went to my local dealer the other day to try and get the seat logo badge for the flip key but for some reason ETKA showed it as "not replacement part for this model" which is fine as i've found one on ebay anyway, but i have just noticed (after bidding on another key :censored:) that ETKA also shows the flip key assembly specifically for my car's VIN number and is described as 2 buttons 433.92Mhz. So i do have the correct frequency! But why wont it program!?

Any thoughts?
