I Finally got around to doing some logs and changing some settings with unisettings.

i finished off my last tank of meth with a 20% mix and it really didnt feel good so i went the other way.... at 50% the car felt so much more eager so the butt dyno won for these logs.....

the annoying thing is i think my MAF has gone, ive never seen it run with figures that low before. recently they have been up to 217g/s so something must be wrong?

i think i might go back and put the fueling back to standard as its not making a huge difference....also, does the boost seem a littlelow for B9... isnt that normally over 1.5bar ish?

Hmmm looking at your logs mate it doesn't look with regards to your MAF. Not that its an exact science but I would say looking at the readings of your MAF its coming out that its runnning around 240ish bhp which clearly isnt right.
Is it running like dog with 3 legs at the mo?
Oh and 114mph........naughty boy! ;)

regarding meth... it last quite a while but its dependent on the strength. i probably use about 5ltrs for every 60ltrs of fuel....thats a guess.

i was suspecting something was wrong with it Ed as on the way to AMD the other week someone pointed out that i had forgotten to plug my MAF back in and i hadnt noticed the difference...... this just sort of confirms it for me, it flowed more as a standard car :(......that said though, it doesnt feel slow at the minute.

lucky i have the hangers near me....i would never do those speeds on a public road :).

You'll only get advantage from a 50% meth mix if the engine is burning it and your timing needs to be advanced quite a bit to do so. Your timing doesn't look advanced to me.

It also looks to be running a bit lean. Sorry I haven't come back earlier, I'll have a good look tonight.

Thanks Dave.... are you saying im not even requesting the right boost?

The fueling isn't too bad is it? I will add some later (it's not my daily driver) but it didn't seem dangerously lean.

The Maf can't be helping.. I need to get this sorted. how much of a difference do you think this is making?

i do underdstand what you are saying about the 50% mix, it just feels so much better this way. i tried pushing the timing more but had the same problem as you.... i wasnt seeing a difference in fueling and was getting a load of CF's. i spent ages last night playing and in the end thought id give the car a rest. this is going to sound like a stupid question but what is the real difference, if im not burning all of it, wont i just be using it to cool the charge like i would if i ran ran more water (although a weaker mix is obviously cheaper)

I don't quite understand why you've taken some fuelling out. A failing Maf could be causing it to run a tad lean.

Before you write the Maf off, I'd redo the runs with the wmi switched off, just as a check.

When I took mine to a JBS RR day with the wmi newly fitted, midway through my development, I thought it felt fantastic running 50/50 wmi. However on the rollers we quickly proved it was running 30bhp less with 50/50 wmi on than with the system turned off altogether............

The only way you get to burn the methanol is by advancing the timing. When you're ready, I'll post you a ref to some calcs on this.

You'll cool the charge injecting just 0/100 = water. A 25/75 mix will give you great intake temps - any more the this and you won't see your intake temps dropping - try logging 032 to see. Unless you can burn the extra meth, it's probably just quenching the combustion.
