RS Components do most security bits if there is one near you mate.

no but there is a screwfix.. i wonder!

Nah Friday. Refuse to work my B/Day.
Oh and think you can get a security torq set from B&Q these days so that may help.

ok mate, im sure these are not your average torx bits though are they? Dave how many points does your set have, 5 or 6

im sure a torx has 6 and these screws have 5... i have a set of 6 point security torx bits and im going to be embarrassed if they fit

ill say HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!! now Ed because i have a terrible memory... i hope you have a great day.

Is your aluminium maf housing oversized by a bit? Say roughly 7%.
This would explain you fuel trims, and you max maf value of 180ish. This would mean your real mas air flow is around 200g/s which is about right for the boost levels.
As the maf is the main load sensor for the ECU, the ecu would run slightly leaner (as it thinks load is lower) and would run a little more timing advance too.
Both of these would explain the good power figures your car is making. Leaner will make more power.
Running leaner with WI is the way to go.

But both of these conditions are less safe for your engine. The ecu can pull cf's of 12, so it still has some headroom to keep you safe, but personally I'd tweak the timing back just a touch to keep cf's at 3 max, as you're running leaner than most would without WI

Hi john, thank you for taking the time, I've read your posts in the past and you really do know your stuff

I'm almost 100% sure the MAF is a standard bore, I will double check when I take it off tonight... I normally see figures between 210 and 220g/s so this would back it up?

I'm also not used to seeing CFs like that (on a cold day like last night), I'm hoping a new MAF will take me back to where I used to be but I suppose there's a chance it won't. I did think about giving it a clean tonight.

For now, I've knocked the timing back to T7 but I probably won't drive it anyway.... As usual :)

What A/F figures am I looking for? The last run without wmi was low 0.8's is that still lean? I'm feeling uneducated right now

if your mafs under reading, you'd see similar effects to an oversized one. The ecu sees less load.
Don't worry you're not massively lean. Most tuners tune to about 0.83 under full load. Yours looks like its aiming for 0.86.
12.5:vs 12:1. not massive, and the car will make more power. Mine was leaned out a little on its last tune, and made noticeably more power on the but dyno.
Whos code are you running? I've just looked at some old logs of some cupra r's, 1apr, 1 revo, and both run just a little richer than yours, but yours is nothing to worry about.
