flip key info thread

Hi Guys,

Just bought one of these flip keys for my Ibiza. Managed to get the transponder out of the flip key with no problems, however getting it out of my spare 'bog-standard' non remote key is proving a little more tricky. Its buried in a deep well inside the key itself. I'm a bit worried about forcing it for obvious reasons. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks in advance.
Ash

No worries, I wasn't quite sure as one guy on here said he had to leave it in IPA for a day or so. Besides - I managed to melt the glue in the end but broke the chip right at the last minute! :censored: Besides, not a problem - my dealer owe me a favour! Thanks for all your help anyway!

just followed the instructions by gazjones, the very first post in this thread! i now have a fully functioning flip key! cost about £30 of ebay a vw 2 button flip key, £1.80 for the badge off ebay, and £8 to cut the blank key that came with it! For vRS Dave mine was a 434 mhz key in said on the side of the original key, think it does matter what frequency it is but as it says at the first few posts, theres only two it could be 434 or the rarer one 433,And to gazjones thanks for the info!!

Very good of you to offer, cheers dude.

May take you up on it and throw you some P&P if that's okay - but I won't know for another week or so (don't ask! this bloody key...) so if anyone else wants it, go for it :)

hi there been lookin at this thread last few days (its bloody long enough like) but didnt look at it well enough as i bought a flip key with the intention of putting a new blade and transponder in, because i have only got the one non flip remote key, but its become decoded from the car, and u obviously need 2 keys to code it back in. so i bought this key, was well excited when it arrived, then read some more of this thread n found out about the hella n siemens keys. turns out my new key is siemens n old one is hella which is a bugger.

does anyone know which flip keys will definately work with a 2003 Toledo? my key is a hella 433mhz, and im watching a couple on ebay which are 1J0 959 753 CT 434mhz, are they ok?

also, with the 3 button remotes, i know it doesnt pop it open, but does the boot button unlock the boot?

What does it say on your old key?

I tried one of the 1J0 959 753 CT keys on my 2001 toledo and it didn't work. Had to get one of the 1J0 959 753 N keys instead. Think it's summat to do with mine being an old fart.

WeeJase got on of the 1J0 959 753 CT keys working on his 2003 toledo IIRC. I think it should be OK for yours too.

does anyone know if 1J0 959 753 AG would work as well? just i found a couple of those on ebay too

That's the same part number as my old key.. That means the 1J0 959 753 CT key might not work on your car. You'll have to go for 1J0 959 753 N, like I had to.

Something like this one.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong..

im soo confused, do u just get a key with the same MHz rate as your and your good to go or does this part number thing matter, surely the Mhz is so the trasmitter responds to the key, nothing else should really matter i wouldnt think, all the paert number will be is the one for whatever style of key you have i would be thinking

well iv bought an 'N' key as suggested above, but i cant get remote to code so im thinking it doesnt work, although i havnt got transponder coded in yet. iv bought 2 keys you see, one plastic emergency one, and the flip one, as well as my current non functioning remote. tried using the plastic key in ignition to code both remotes, didnt work, tried non working remote to code flip, didnt work, so im thinking i may need a different one. do the transponders need coding before you can code the remote?
