blimey this thread goes fast!!!

the CDA kit looks good, and i know what you mean about increase in performance, but i have swapped in between filter and airbox quite a few times and not sure there is a real difference across the board. I think 2nd and 3rd seem to be better though

Chris, with the gear knob replacement, did you replace the gaiter as well?

PS: has anyone put cupra clocks in?

cheers. No same gaiter, just different gear knob. Really happy with it, looks better imo n feels lot nice and like I said it's not as tall as before so changing gear is more pleasant if that makes sense.

My mate did mine. (coulda done it if i wanted, just couldn't be arsed).

Just get a hack saw and the smooth with sandpaper or similar.

I also used the cover on the other side covering tow eye as a template to make the cut out ;)

personally wouldnt use a hacksaw, as its not fast enough to give a nice cut. I watched the guy at an exhaust place do mine with basically a jigsaw by hand. Just mark up alot first and take your time i would say.

On the topic of induction kits just before.... what does anyone reckon to this?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/New-JDM-Cold-...ryZ36680QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

I currently have the k&n one fitted, but I really want an enclosed one, as my mate has one on his polo (same engine as our 1.4's) and gets much better results than me!

I know the induction kit i've put a link to up there is a cheap universal thing, but unless anyone knows anything else below say.. 60quid, then that's the sort of cheap crap i'd have to get? if it's worth it?

does that actually come with a filter? the box and description might suggest otherwise

I like the idea of it though, comes so that you can adjust the pipe all the way along to suit an engine bay nice idea that.

ultimately, u get what u pay for. I suggest holding out for something good second hand-i got my BMC CDA enclosed kit (widely regarded as one of the best kits around) in v good condition for £60 posted, imo far better than a new budget kit that's going to have little effect. Just my opinion ofcourse :)

Also, i think some of the cupra lads do it, but has anyone tried or no if it's worth it, gutting out our engine cover / air box to improve the air flow and putting a decent filter in there?? Will that actually do anything???

Just another heads up for all the Non-Cupra owners.

Have you seen the video of the rocket car at Santa Pod yesterday?
(for those who haven't, it's here)

If you're wondering what the secret is behind all that power. Well, it is - I shouldn't actually be telling anyone this as it's top secret - but the secret is...........

It's my car with a shell over it
