To ALL: Did any of you receive a relay wiring kit with your HID's?If so, are you using it?? Because if not than I'd happily take it off your hands and help you fund couple of pints ;) Reason I'm asking is that mine didn't. And the power spike is too high for the mk2 ibiza wiring meaning every time I switch on my headlights, my cluster power dies for 2 seconds (needles drop), and the trip counter/clock resets itself.

If you do have a relay kit, could you please reply here of PM me.

Cheers :D

Unfortunately not mate, sorry. The kit I received was a direct wiring kit using the factory bulb wiring. I'd imagine most others will be the same :(

In the installation guide they came with, there was a section about installing the kit you are referring to. I wonder how hard it would be to replicate that with your own parts?

That's why I asked, because I saw the guide showing a kit with a relay. So I figured that maybe some of the kits (e.g H7) came with the relays. But maybe not :(

finally got round to fitting mine this afternoon.

managed to hide the near side ballast on the shelf directly below the bulb, which gets nicely hidden by the plastic cover when its all back in place. drivers side was a helluva lot more tricky! ended up using one of the supplied bolts through the bit under the washer bottle, jacking the car up then from underneath bolting the ballast there. nice and tidy job.

first impressions very good, cant believe how yellow the main beams look in comparison, but the quad LED sidelights are a nice match.

Then leave fogs at stock becuase you will compromise your ability to see in the fog. Fogs are yellowish for a reason

reading on the internet shows that the reasoning behind yellow lights (light dispersion) is flawed, and that yellow was picked mainly due to it's association with caution.
see here, amongst others

i don't believe white (or any other colour, for that matter) would make any difference to the effectiveness

Which does then beg the question, what's the point in spending all that money for no benefit? It's not even like it's worth doing it for cosmetic reasons, as the amount of time you spend with your fogs on (unless you're a BMW driver or a chav twat) is minimal.

Wrighty - Glad you got them fitted and are pleased with them! I know what you mean about the difference between the light colours, but it seems the only way to get around that is another set of HID's. I'm not that concerned so will leave mine as they are.

Have to say folks, the difference between HID in a normal headlight and HID through a projector is massive. Whereas before the light lit up everything in front of the car ( including other drivers retinas i'm sure) the projector lens does exactly what the name suggests and projects a very defined light in front of the car - the beam cut off is laser sharp. I think the reason the main beam was largely useless was because the HID light bleeds over the area that main beam is meant to illuminate. I got mine aligned at an MOT testing station yesterday and after adjustment they said they couldn't fault the beam pattern.

I'm sure your right, but I wouldn't say the HID's in a normal headlight are 'largely useless' as they are a fantastic improvement over stock lights.
