I'm sure your right, but I wouldn't say the HID's in a normal headlight are 'largely useless' as they are a fantastic improvement over stock lights.

Rob - I think what UncleFester was meaning was that full beams seem/are rubbish when you've got HIDs as your dipped beams (UncleFester - please correct me if I'm wrong?)

I don't think he's doubting that HIDs are a big improvement over stock, but by the sound of things they can be improved further.

That's what i was getting at Arn - I've had HID in 'stock' headlights in a couple of cars now and they're a HUGE improvement. However HID in a projector seems to be a refinement of that original improvement. I'll try and get some night time pictures to illustrate.

I'm actually really interested in the projector lenses mod, as when I took my HIDs to be aligned, the tester was quite critical of the beam pattern (although that said, I haven't had any other drivers flashing their lights at me since they were aligned).

Are you planning on putting together a guide?

For comparison, the current price if ordering through the MyDepots.com website directly is £70.37 by my calculations :)

Fitted my kit this morning all went well and took about an hour.

I now have a problem though. The lights switched on fine no probs and the difference was amazing. Tidied all my tools ready to go to MOT station for alignment check.
When I started the engine after about 20 seconds the lights began to flicker then they went out.
I turned them on again with engine off and they were fine, once engine on the flicker started again. Any ideas why this is happening. I have a mkII leon tdi.
Also the led bulbs I received dont work. Have changed them round as per website +/- but still no light.

I have taken the HID's out to see if I can find out on here why they flicker, but I was looking to go out tonight and see for a change :(

Mk IIs have a canbus voltage pulse to the headlamps to stop you from fitting HIDs and to check for bulb failures, you need the additional relay harness to stop this from happening.

I have managed to locate the relay harness through my depots :D for my flickering HID's.
The reply said they weren't sure if this would solve the problem. What I needed to know was would this deffo solve the problem on the mkII Leon before I go ahead and order the relay.
Thanks Pep
