A nice update- moved battery to make airflow better
Had to make a custom mount for battery took a few hours
Below finished product
Might change pipes to silicone
What do you think?

:)

It looks like you've just put the induction piping into the oem air intake? If so thats dangerous as it wont be a secure fit

Cruise Control

Installed cruise control over weekend
Lots of fun - !!"£$£$

Bought from kufatec - £90 delivered

Installation

Disconnect battery!
Undo fuse panel - 2 x hex key
Take out storage draw
Take off right hand panel - disconnect light switch and dimmer from behind
Few hex screws at bottom and on side of the fuse box
A few push fittings left
Take undertray off - disconnect diagnostic plug

Remove airbag - turn wheel to each side - small hole at top back - pull back yellow part of firing pin to pull out
Mark with pen where wheel nut tightens to
Remove steering wheel - 12mm spline tool
Remove cowling around steering column - 2 screws and 2 clips
I didnt remove the plastic disk as it was being stubborn
Undo allen key at back holder indicator stalk on
Pull white lever on back of stalks
Pull stalks and plastic disc off
Then i managed to seperate stalk from plastic disc
Take cover of wiring block behind stalks
Plug in 5 new cables - numbered 31 - 26 - all have correct clips so easy
Run cable down back of steering and across to fuse panel
Plug brown plug into 6Q0 unit - where the bonnet handle is - its upside down

Now comes the %%^$%^:censored: bit
Take 6q0 unit from hooks allow to hang loose
Undo black cable holder- 1 x hex pull out of way
To drop the relay holder there are clips either side at the bottom
You will see a black annoying arm i used a cable tie to pull this out of the way
You should see lots of different colour plugs through gap
First thing is there are 2 metal bars that have to pushed left for the left cables and right for the right cables - mine had a cable tie - thanks SEAT!!!
So pushed both bars to allow plus out
Because of the restriction i pulled all the cables out
You cant put the wrong ones in the holes and they are coloured
To unpplug - as long as bars moved there is a tag - top row tag top, bottom row tag bottom
Unplug all - stretch accross to left side of bank
There is a white plug top right - next to the metal pin
Pull that out - so tight!!
Could only just see it
They have a purple pin clamp - pull that out
Grab your pin 10 cable with end on
You now need to get that into pin 10 - took a lot patience and :censored: but got there in the end.
Once its in replug all the plugs in
Move the bars back - right for left bank and left for right bank
If you get stuck on colours there are some colour pics on sites - googles your mate
Put the relays back
Put the 6Q0 back

Run cable pin 4 to the fuse holder
Take the back of the fuse holder of
Look for a black / brown cable - i think mine was fuse 12 - 5 amp, headlight washer(dont use it)
Cut into cable and solder pin 4 cable on
Reassemble panel

Put it all back
Make sure plastic disc is central
Punch steering wheel nut - can only be tightened 5 times
Tighten to 60nm / 45ib/ft

Reconnect battery - make sure no one in car incase of airbags going off
I ran a scan - will come back bad signal if anything wrong

On mine - 2002 model it doesnt light up on dash - i bought the mfa version (not sure which one)

Works spot on

Anyway a few piccies of my build

Hopefully get them fitted in the next week- poss jkm. Dont know if they stock spacers.

Offered up new discs and calipers yesterday - buggee they are wide! Looking at 20mm needed to clear!!
Not sure to do the same as the back with stanless steel and bolting to the hub thennto the alloy. Or seen 20mm hubcentric alloy bolt through ones so just need longer bolts.
Dont really want to buy the alloy 2 bolt ones@£110!
Apart from the alloy weight saving is one better than the other?
Thanks
Tom
