Yeh full interior mate, nothing removed. Goodyear Eagle F1 GSD-3 tyres. :) I can't really see the point in running it any other way tbh, I want to know how quick it'll be on the road.

I was aiming for under 14 secs when I went so I was pretty happy with my out come :) My TIP was still not 100% right, so there may be another 1/10th or two to get out of it if I go again, although the Falkens I have on at the moment aren't as good as the Eagles by any means.

Will be interesting to see what kind of difference a diff makes, would love one in mine but bank says no :(

Hi Rich,

That pic on the first page with the Milltek exhaust, and you say it sits in the bumper quite deep - is this still your current setup?

I've been looking at exhausts for mine, seems the only "decent" option is the Milltek, but I'm not 100% sure on it at the moment. I like the OEM looking exhaust tip, but don't want it to look too small or sit too far in the bumper.

Cheers mate! Good thread

If you're referring to the picture of it filthy dirty, then no, it's not the same setup now. Back then it was just a Milltek Cat-back system. Now I have the Milltek downpipe and hi-flow sports cat, so the exhaust sits about right now in my opinion :)

It looks like this now, and it extends a little when it's hot too. I think I prefer this tip to the newer ones

Trouble is, when I got the cat-back, it was the only oval option they did, and it was aimed at people with pre-facelift FR's with the rear valence cut out as shown on their website. They now do a different oval which Damien and Scott have both got, which is more oval and sticks out a little further, so there's a choice to be had there :)

Thanks for the thread compliments too Pabs :D

Cheers Tomboi

Nice write up, Rich

Rear ARB makes a huge difference too :)

Thanks, I took inspiration from yours with the past history bit, hope you don't mind! :) Rear ARB is on the "to do" list. I've just ordered the new Forge replacement intercooler pipe, so the RARB will have to wait a little while. Car definitely feels like it needs it though.

Dunno how I miss this mate, was waiting on it!

Looks mint, would love to see what the hybrid goes like! Reminded me I need to sort out a stiffer rear engine bush. Was yours a complely new aftermarket arm, or just a replacement bush?

Rarb is also on my list too but it's such a pain buying stuff again I already bought for my White one!

Look forward to more updates!

Yeah I have the Vibratechnics complete replacement part. I picked it up 2nd hand though off a diesel owner who couldn't handle the vibrations it made, so I didn't pay anywhere near the £120 rrp.

Nice to see you looking in here at last after badgering me to make a RR thread lol

I want to get a high flow manifold and forged rods really, then a map tweak. I don't think my hybrid feels all that much faster than my mates Stg2 car to be honest. BHP/£ is not a strong point!

I'll keep an eye out for one of them maybe or for a standard one again to replace the bush in. Made a nice difference on the diesel but I'll get the stiffer version for the petrol.

There's rods, pistons, valves etc in the place I work at on Saturdays for another member off here, so wish I could afford an engine like the one we are building!

I need some more money lol

Latest update, cambelt and water pump service, plus I had my LCR rear brakes fitted at the same time along with a full brake fluid service with Motul RBF600 fluid :D

Had those for 9 months sat in my room waiting to go on so its about time!! :ban:

Can't say I've noticed a performance difference yet, if at all, but then it's been raining non-stop since I picked my car up and they may need some bedding in despite not doing much work. They do fill the wheel that little bit better though, and generally look a bit more beefy being vented over the standard solid discs...

Pics to follow another day when I've cleaned it and the weather is better :D

Was it expensive to do the rear brake conversion mate? I thought about it but its mostly for looks id say as the rears dont do alot

The calipers and carriers cost me £140 from a member on here, included all bolts etc, and in the same red as my existing brakes. Discs cost me £50 odd quid I think and pads umm... not entirely sure, its been a while! Brake fluid was fairly cheap too :D I got standard discs and pads from Eurocarparts, and the fluid from Opie Oils

Glad to see this updated, one of the best mk4's on here! All sounds good, look forward to pics! Is it just a straight swap, bar trimming back the dust shields?

Yeah, straight swap as long as you get a 2WD set. IE golf IV anniversary, LCR, Octy VRS.
4WD sets need 6mm shims to get the spacing right between discs and caliper i think. I was lucky to spot the LCR brakes for sale I think :D

My dust shields are removed completely, the garage removed/replaced the hubs, perhaps a tidier finish than trimming them or bending them to suit.

Thanks for the props, both of yours ain't too shabby either ;) I'd love to update this more, but my next mod will be an insurance bill I think!

Did they charge much more for removing them/ refitting? Sounds like a mod for the future! Yeh insurance is a killer, hoping mine might come down abit next time!

They charged £135 for removal of old, fitting of new, removal/refit hubs, and a full brake fluid change.. I don't know if thats good or bad or what, but the service was good, and they're a VAG specialist so I don't think I'd get ripped off lol

Dont suppose its that bad tbh, dont know what removing the hubs is like though!
Can you remember how much labour you paid with the hybrid by any chance mate? Trying to get some quotes at the mo!
