They arnt the same length:

that is the difference in length. You can clamp the black one on the throttle body and line it up with the boost pipe and and get over a fingers width in between the hose and the boost pipe. With the blue one that can only just be clamped onto the boost pipe even though its that much longer, it just isnt long enough :(

Hmmm, well I don't know then, you putting it on the right way up? :p

On another note, I have BKR7EIX spark plugs in my car, seem to be working a treat! :D can't say if they made a positive difference or not though as I did a full service at that time too.

You'll love it when it's on and fitted properly :) When I first got mine fitted my exhaust was popping and banging like a good'un, even just driving normally and changing gear at 2.5k revs! Once the ECU had learnt what was happening it stopped sadly :( I still get a pop every now and again if I drive normally for a while and then give it some beans :D

How's the decat for pops and bangs? You had an MOT with it yet?

Exactly the reason why I wanted to fit one mate..

Just remember to keep an eye on the oil level.

It gets kept on top of and spare oil in the rear footwell :D

Sounds good! Would have loved for it to all fitted properly, engine bay looked miles better all black at last! Woulda cheered me up after a ball ache of a day aswell!

Can't really hear it popping much inside the car, it bangs proper loud if you take it up near to 7k rpm when you change gear, like a shot gun haha

Yep had my mot last month

Sounds like it passed no problem lol  did the decat make much difference? You never had a sports cat did you, I'm just wondering how much difference a decat would make over a sports cat. Might be a hassle having to get my map tweaked to the sensor

A bit off topic question Scott, have you seen my old car about recently?

Hope he hasn't killed it......

I havnt at all mate but Nick has, as per your thread :p i wouldnt worry, you seem to still be attached to the old cupra :p

Yeh passed fine :D nah never had one, didnt want to pay an extra 200 quid for a restriction, when i was paying money out in the first place to get rid of the original restrictions! I think sports cats generally flow pretty well but i couldnt half tell the difference even on standard map, once it was fitted!

Dont think the map would need much tweaking, just the sensors limits widened!

Small update for now, sick of carrying cd's about so got this 2nd hand, looking forward to it arriving and getting it bashed in!

Headunit was nice and cheap aswell! Nice and oem, shouldn't look out of place hopefully!

Looking at sending my turbo off soon, probably with CRT but looking at turbo dynamics too, told her she can't whinge if I go on holiday with her haha

I was only gonna use it as a stepping stone car for an ed30 but ended up loving it to bits haha they are great fun for blatting about in and not bad on fuel!

Sure yours will be fine, shame he hasn't taken it any further or put his Mark on it yet though! Perfect base to go further!

Yea, I loved mine and loved the power to weight and the whole "surprise package" they give :)

BUT, the ED30 is a totaly different animal all togeather. The 2.0T k04 is a truely stunning turbo :D

Yeh I went out in ryans, felt dead smooth and refined but really quick! I'm not ready to grow up yet haha

Power to weight and that surprise factor you mention is where it's at for me still haha never gets old!

Think I'll try leave it and save my money once hybrid is on, though that's what I said when I stage 2'd it :D

Isn't it a grand for a tbe too? :0

My mate just sold his awesome ed30 that was stage 2+'d. All the bits off it are off onto his new s3 though haha silly expensive them things!

How much are tyres too? Much more than the cupras?

Aye, £650 just for DP and £400 for cat back

Basic clutch kit is like £500+ and for a decent kit your looking at £750+...

Then £700 for a APR HPFP or £350 for a kit to turn your fuel pump into a HPFP......

Then suspension and ARB's are at least 1/3 more than the Ibiza stuff :(

Tyres are 225/40/18 so £120-140 a corner for half decent ones..

Obviously I will get me parts cheaper by picking up a bargan here and there ;)
