It has been a very long time since I had the R600 but from memory its the same as stock from a noise perspective.

This box is the best for performance but I fitted it at the same time as going Stage 1 so was not possible to identify it gave extra power (if it does it will be a small amount) however it will give a better airflow to the turbo so will help with how the car performs I am sure.

These are not cheap bits of kit but I personally purchased second hand off ebay and was very happy to save a few coins.

Inside the box on mine was an open cone filter but obviously its fully enclosed so you dont get the whoosh of a normal open cone setup.

Hope that helps.
Morning!

That's good information, thanks. I was looking on eBay last night to see if there were any used kits out there.

Helping the car breath more easily is always going to help, but I don't expect miracles...I'd just like to improve things without impacting on comfort, and definitely wouldn't want it to sound like a race car.

Thanks for your help.

Cheers,

Nick

Postage not included, but they are my local dealer, and the car's going in for it's MOT on Monday so will pick it up then, along with the funnel washer bottle filler cap.

I did find this on eBay before contacting them first though:

I don't think adding £5.80 for postage is unreasonable...it would cost me more in time, fuel and wear-and-tear on the car if I weren't going to the dealer anyway!
That's the one I purchased. :)

Urgh, engine cover arrived yesterday, delivered by DX Express…of course the mounting bolt is missing…

The last delivery I had from DX Express was a damaged battery, and they failed to redeliver the replacement to my work address three times, they really are sh*t.

Good on Progressive Parts for sending a replacement out yesterday, but I got notification that it’s being sent by DX Express, watch this space!

I'm sure the definition of insanity is to repeat a process with an expected different outcome but likely similar outcome. If they have issues with DX then why still use them? Some companies just don't make sense lol

I've yet to order anything from PP yet but when I have checked them for price comparison then I found them to not be competitive. However, DX and DPD are the 2 most reliable delivery companies here with Fedex and UPS a close second.

Battery was from Tayna, as they were by far the most competitive with battery price.

PP were the most competitive with the engine cover!

Agreed, DPD are consistently good with regards to not breaking things.

I thought we just had a bad local DX driver until the shenanigans with the battery redelivery to work as that’s half way up the country!

Meh, it is what it is, and hopefully they don’t **** up delivering a bolt - they’ll probably manage to rip the bag open and it’ll fall out 🙄🤣

Aliexpress haul installed

Put some stickers on the door sills to protect and look a bit nicer. Metal silver stick on plates on the flat section and a ‘carbon’ effect on the curved part. May not be everyone’s cup of tea but I like them.

Added a battery cover and funnel style washer fluid cap. The washer cap can't work miracles though, it's better than the original but a full funnel is still necessary.

Added the obligatory dynamic indicators and gloss black mirror covers. The gloss black covers are spot on. Easy install, just be careful with the clips on the covers but that goes without saying. I like how bright the indicators are compared to the originals, unfortunately the first set I bought the left indicator didn't work, I got a refund and had to wait a few weeks for another set to arrive.

Some nice, bits there.
I've recently fitted one of those washer caps, you may already know, but you need to unfold the bottom section more when it's open so it makes more of a funnel.

Like this.

Edit : I see someone already mentioned it 😅

Yep gonna not be an idiot next time I need to top up the washer reservoir! Actually on my long term list of things to do is retrofit a low fluid level sensor seeming as Seat saved some pennies not fitting one to my model....

To be fair, it took me a little while to figure it out when it took it out of the packet, it seemed to fold in all sorts of directions!

I finally got YouTube working again with Android Auto using my phone running Android 14, the update blocked it so I had to find a workaround.

I ended up installing Fermata using Kingstaller then using Headunit Reloaded to launch it, it was a bit of a faff and had to do it a few times, bit it seems to be working ok now, it's handy for when I'm waiting for the kids after school and their clubs.

I finally got the sub wired in correctly, I didn't realise there were 6 channels coming out of the back of the CD unit, I thought it was the standard 4 and tapped into the front left and right to get the high level input for the sub, and got no sound from the sub.
Tapped into the second set of pins for the front door speakers and all good now.

It's got a good bit of output for its size, I was going to go for a spare wheel sub but decided it would probably be too much of a compromise.

Still loads of boot space left and it has quick release connectors so I can take it out easy if I need the full boot.

Replaced my drivers side window buttons as the driver's one only worked occasionally.. I learnt that to do this you have to remove the whole door card which is a bit of a faff especially when it's reluctant to disengage from the door. Overall took about an hour (should have been 30 minutes).

Recommend buying some of these too (as well as the window buttons) in case some of those reluctant door clips loose their 'petals' or snap..

Car Mot'd, and given a clean bill of health, along with a comment about how good condition it's in, which was nice.

DX Express managed to deliver the mounting bolt for the engine cover (excellent, speedy service from Progressive Parts in getting that sorted).

Washer bottle funnel fitted (which works, I tested :D), along with the little bonnet cable cover, so apart from the engine bay being minging, it looks a bit tidier in there - the engine cover makes a real difference IMO.

If anyone knows where to get the little red sticker for the Cupra flag, please point me in the right direction - it started peeling away a while ago, and instead of trying to stick it back down, I peeled it off and threw it away, doh

Have a nice evening all,

Nick
