Currently in with my insurance company’s garage for 2 brand new OEM alloys and tyres on the front, after a hit n run side-swipe by a Nissan pick-up truck (can't think of the model off-hand) while my wife was driving with 2 boys in the back. Good job we have a dashcam. Third party claiming they weren’t even in the area at the time 😂 They weren’t just in the area, they were almost IN my car!
Hope the missus and kids are OK - cars can be repaired or replaced, family can't. +1 for dashcams - I've got them front and rear

Hope your wife and kids were ok (and I seem to recall one of the kids is a baby), cars can be replaced people cant.

As for the people on the dash cam why would they not own up unless somebody had stolen there motor (but you would hope they knew that)

I think they were hoping it was our word against theirs, and that we didn’t have any proof.

Another great day at Cadwell Park doing a track day, enjoyed playing with a very smart Golf MK8 R and there were for a change a load of MK3/3.5 Leons.

Got a warning that my auto headlights had an issue and after doing a scan got an error Rain/light recognition sensor faulty. Checked the front of the windscreen and noticed there is some loose material in the sensor so now need to figure out how to clear it out.

Spotted my millage today on the dash hopefully I will see the 66666

Personally, I would get a new RLS, you need a new gel pad anyway. I would be surprised if the RLS didn't have a crack. Installing and removing it is very simple.

Not really today, but last week changed out the sway bar bushings to PowerFlex Black Series. Unfortunately, the creaking noise on uneven bumps is not gone as of yet. Afterwards, the Eibach Pro Kit springs were installed again, together with new front stut mounts and bearings. Now there's an additional creaking while turning at low speeds/parking, from the left side only. Ride quality wise, a recalibration of the DCC shocks worked magic and the daily drive is really enjoyable!

I've heard that replacing rear bushing of front arms to the ones from Audi RS3 helps a lot with those weird noises. Here is the comparison of those from Leon with those from Audi RS3, which are fully filled with rubber instead of partially. PN is 81A407183

Very interesting! Never seen this before, even though I've been looking for a solution since years. Probably wrong search terms...
Thanks for the hint!

Had roadforce balancing done after having suspension fully looked at for any problems due to weird random vibrations at motorway speeds.

Was able to chat to the guy as he was balancing the wheels and we found that the rear nearside wheel is buckled in a couple of places, so the machine wouldn’t even offer a balancing solution! I finally know what the problem is and can get it resolved, and I wasn’t going mad!

Car feels much better just having the other three wheels roadforce balanced, so can’t wait to see what it’s like with the final wheel fixed and balanced.

~88000km driven and car required engine oil, cabin filter and brake fluid change. During change a leak between gearbox and driveshaft was noticed. It must be some fresh malfunction, because gearbox was dry in the March this year. I will have to address this sooner rather than later.

Also installed some of underside covers which should reduce fuel consumption and road noise.

Today, a minor modification in the form of dechroming the emblems at the front and rear, along with black frames for the rear lights.

The foil on the emblems only covers the central part, so the middle is black, while the chrome remains visible around it. I really like this effect as it reminds me of the finish on the FR badges. The foil on the lights makes the rear look a bit more aggressive, and I think the lights should looks like that from factory.

Everything was purchased from the Turkish store Graficar:
The total cost for this mod is €16 + €17 for shipping. Quite pricey, but I’m very satisfied with the result. Definitely worth if you’re not confident in cutting the foil yourself.
