Paid £400 notes for some swirl flap related work that the warranty didn't cover [:@] and then bought myself a bluefin for the Fr :D

Great day - went to motor factors to pick up a new relay to try and solve an intermittent error code (constantly ticking relay #15). None in stock.
In the 5 minutes I was in the shop some t**t in a van has reversed into the front of my car and driven off.
Then to top it off the car has also developed a rough/pulsing idle and thrown EML on the way home: got two codes to do with camshaft position (I think one was P0016), but I accidentally reset the errors instead of screen-grabbing

Nightmare! Hate people that do that! More than likely the camshaft solenoid mate, check block 93 on VCDS, the specified and actual should match, if they don't then unless the timing has jumped a tooth then its probably the solenoid. The other is probably a system too lean code which could be related.

Had a productive day on mine yesterday. Did a full service:- Oil & filter, fuel filter, pollen filter, cam follower, plugs and a gearbox oil change. Got my hands on the new 'good stuff' from Millers:

Today it's having a much needed bath as the thing is foul.

Cheers mate, it's a Cupra CDL engine. Is the camshaft solenoid the one at the HPFP end of the engine?
Unfortunately I don't have VCDS, only a diagnostic app (Carista).

Looking at selling the FR for a GT86

Nice... I had the choice between an FR or GT86... I went FR. But theres a tricked out GT86 belonging to one of the staff at the tyre place I go to. I drool over it every time.
