Cheers guys. Only had to cut a few inches off the end. Took a bit longer to fit than I had planned as I secured it with a number of small self tappers in addition to the 3M tape. For the money you can't beat it

Were the screws just for piece of mind? Do you reckon it would fit secure enough with just the tape? Looks good, especially at that price!!

Screws are there for peace of mind initially, but I would say they are a must in the corners by the wheel arch, and in the corners of the black section of my front bumper to keep the lip 'up' in the corner

Finally decided to stop being tight... shes now ready for stage 2

Went to have a look at a newer car today as I'm considering changing mine....... A newer, younger, model is fluttering it's eyes at me

Was only offered £3,250 as a trade in for mine :( thought I'd get more than that considering the cars condition, mileage (42.5K with FSH -Main Dealer) & spec

Also, there was absolutely no movement by the dealer on the screen price of the car I was looking at.......not even the offer of a discount in lieu of me having to buy the road tax per the new rules or the offer of throwing in a tank of fuel.

I was looking at a Volvo C30 2.0L R-Design on a 13 plate, up for £10,475

They wouldn't budge much....told them that I'd hapilly do a deal today at £6k cash + my car but wouldn't budge, so for the sake of £500 or so they lost a sale

probably not helped by half of the UK buying at sticker price.

that said when I bought my Seat 3 years ago I had to wait months for one that wasn't overpriced.

I finally found one 150 miles away.

100 miles away was a virtually identical car up for 750 more. So I called in at the closer more expensive dealers and literally said:
"Im on my way to buy this car, right now, today, for 750 less than you are asking. If you can match the price I will buy yours."

They didn't match, drove the remaining 50 miles and paid the asking price for the other car.

Given that both vehicles were 3000+ over guide prices (who writes these guides?) the salesman should have moved to get the deal.

I personally think the current forecourt thinking is (based on the link at the top):

"If you don't pay sticker price, the next person will, so im not negotiating with you."

meh

It's strange, I've had my Leon for 4 yrs. I didn't have this 'hardball' attitude when I bought the Leon.
There was always a bit of wiggle room/haggling in all the car buying deals I've done previously.
Even if there was hardly any movement on price, there was other sweeteners thrown in like Gap insurance, 12 months road tax & a tank of fuel or something else to close it.

Today was basically...... "well that's the price with a 12 month warranty.......take it or leave it"

LED Lights

Installed front Ice white LED's, camera has exaggerated the brightness of the side lights! Look like full beam side lights! Nice little touch for a more modern look.

Also installed rear Reg plate lights, nothing major. Also thought I'd show off the lit up Subwoofer I made, super chuffed with it! Good boot light too.

Lowered on H&R -40mm springs

Finally got round to getting the car lowered. As this is my daily runner and I have another car which is my toy, i'd tried to keep this standard and not get sucked into modifying it but i was never really happy with the height of the suspension. Bought some H&R -40mm springs and had them fitted recently when the car was being serviced. Looks much better now and feels a lot smoother over bumps (not as harsh as the standard suspension) - before and after shots.

Air bag light came on again today. Fault reader said it was the drivers side at fault, so I cleaned all the points and refitted them. Cleared the fault and fingers crossed it won't come back.

Sorry to hear that mate, but it will likely be back. If it is first step is the connector under the seat. 1 1/2 hours labour or so, not too bad. I had this and then ended up replacing the airbag less than 12 months later anyway.

I've cleaned all the connectors a few times now and normally sorts it for a months or two but I think you probably right it'll need changing on the end. It's been like it since I got the car 3 years ago.
