Dropped car off at the Wheel Specialist to have the alloys refurbished and powder coated. :D
Bits have arrived for LED numberplate light conversion so may have a bash at that later if I get car back in time. And if it doesn't start raining again!

Today I did the following to my mk2 facelift leon:

- Oil and filters changed with genuine parts
- tripple-R front splitter arrived and fitted
- new set of Bosch aero wipers fitted

I was just about to wash the car when the rain started

I found the Bosch ones to wear a hell of a lot quicker than the cheaper valeo ones. Won't buy Bosch again.

Agreed, I only kept my Bosch ones for a month or so. Swapped for valeo ones and they're a lot better!

I also found the Bosch to be a poor figment and to be very noisey. So swapped foR Valeo. FYI Valeo aren't a budget brand there just a dam sight cheaper than Bosch! :)

I wish I knew that before buying the Bosch, I looked into cheaper versions but people seemed to say that they were noisy but the Bosch were fine

I will give them a go and see how they do

removed the pre-cat from the FR this evening... what a difference!! well worth doing :)

Is your car a pd170 tdi leon? Do you know if the cr tdi engines have the same pre-cat?

Do you have any pictures or details of what you replaced it with?

Just remember when I got mine the Bosch ones would fit on both sides however the valeo ones will only fit one side.

Carried out the Ron Echt Inlet valve clean, along with CupraJake. Worked well.. lots of crap fired out of the tail pipe.. probably plenty more behind cat lol. Idles better.. put through a pint of white spirits via removing temperature sender and spraying ws in using a modded garden sprayer

Snap, hope it did some good,

I also did this today

Today, after the fail of the exhaust I decided to do this,

Untitled by cuprajake1, on Flickr

You can see the perforated holes, all four pipes have these, I've already covered the lower two, with half a piece of pipe,

This is all the fibreglass stuffing. Enough for two bin bags,

Here's the pipes all covered

We did weld all the edges before putting half the stuffing back in and welding shut,

The idea of this is. The perforated holes make the exhaust quieter and slow down the gases, by blocking off half these holes I've made the car louder and still kept away form any raspy-ness....

I can still open the other side and block the rest of the holes should I want more noise,

But tbh I'm happy with the sound, very oem just a bit deeper.

Here's a very pants vid.

Really doesnt represent the sound
